Great product amazing customer service.
Product is so easy to set up. And works great. So much easier than having to keep going out to the pool to check it out the temperature. Ours unfortunately did develop a fault where it stopped connecting to the app a few months later. Even though that happens customer service was amazing for getting another replacement sorted and sent out.I would definitely recommend this thermometer. Battery life is great too.

Works well
Put some batteries in the transmitter and the receiver, chucked the transmitter in the pool, and immediately started to see the water temperature. Doesn't seem to have any problems with water leaking in and happily floats around in the pool. It's a bit smaller than expected, which is nice - doesn't get in the way when you're in the pool. I have the receiver about 15-20m away inside the house and has no trouble picking up the signal. If you're a nerd like me, you can receive the 433Mhz signal from the transmitter using a Raspberry Pi and a DVB-T tuner stick and do all kinds of interesting things with the data - mine is plotted on ThingSpeak. I found that the reception was variable though - I needed the receiver antenna to be located higher than the pool otherwise the signal kept dropping out (presumably when the signal had to pass through the pool water). Data is transmitted whenever the temperature changes or roughly every 6 minutes.

Good when it works, but they do not last more than 1 year.
For the time that it does work it is great. We use to monitor the temperature of a wood fired hot tub all year round. The bluetooth will transmit approx 10m to our house, though we have a better reception higher up for some reason. Batteries last ages, like 6 months, and the historic data stored is equally as good.However.... I had my first one replaced after 9 months, the replacement one has now stopped working after 11 months.Inkbird say "The appearance of small water droplets on the product screen is not the cause of water leakage, but the water vapor condensing into small water droplets caused by the temperature difference caused by the hot weather". I say it doesn't matter if it's hot or cold, it still doesn't like getting wet!If the bluetooth stops working, in the case of my second device, you will struggle to read the screen."We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to you by the product problem. In fact, we only provide one reissue or refund service during the product warranty period."

Condensation intermittently showing after less than 10 days use
Easy to set up, instant accurate readout transmitted to the remote display. Level indicators show battery strength remaining, but they don't report accurately when using rechargeable NiMH cells. Freshly charged batteries installed in both sender and receiver both show as part used straight away. The unit has a convenient tether point on the cap which can be used to stop the device from floating freely around the hot tub if needs be.However, despite the two halves of the floating sender having been screwed together correctly, there is already a small intermittent condensation bloom beginning to show on the underside of the LCD screen glass. This seems to come and go, so for the moment it is under a watchful eye.Slightly disappointed that the unit is not able to be read by the separate Inkbird app which I use for monitoring a remote meat probe thermometer, but it's not the end of the world to not be able to see the tub temperature on my phone.[edit 06/01/2025] The sender has been in constant use since July 2024 and of today's date, the condensation within the clear lens has gotten to the point of not being able to read the LCD display. The sender itself is still functioning perfectly, and the in-house monitor is still reporting the temperature of the hot tub perfectly fine. Given I always check the temperature before getting in the tub it's not a big deal for us, just disappointing that it cannot remain readable.[2nd edit 06/01/2025] It now transpires that even though I ordered the IBS-PO1B unit, @I actually got sent an IBS-PO1R, but with a separate remote display .... it's only taken me 6 months to realise I don't have the unit I ordered. This one is without the Bluetooth function, the error only came to light when I tried to add the device to my Inkbird app and I could not connect (cos' there wasn't any Bluetooth function!!!) Check what you order, and check that you receive what you expect is the motto here!

PERFECT pool thermometer
We bought this for a new wood-fired hot-tub, and wanted insight in to how fast or slow it would heat up, so we don't need to stand next to it whitst it is heating. This floating thermometer has great range, works even through the pool cover, (although not so great through walls), but gives you not only temperature, but a graph of temperature evolution - so for example, I can see how long teh tub continues heating, and by how much, once I shut off the air vents to the fire, and also, get an idea of exactly how much wood is needed, so I not only avoid wasting it, but also, I don't over-heat the tub, making it too hot to get in.ABSOLUETLY delighted with this thermometer. I've only had it for 3 days, so can't comment on how well it will last, but first impressions are great. How to use - arrives in a simple box with no need for instructions. There's a piece of paper with a QR code for an App Store link for the App which runs it - you download the App, and it links your phone with the thermometer, and away you go! Simple as that !!
