It would be cheaper and more beneficial to just buy childrens walky talkys. They sound like garbage, there is virtually no way to configure them, the battery lasts less than an hour, it uses a shared frequencies.

Ok so we got this so that my live in mother in law could always get a hold of us if she needs anything and will stop telling the rest of the extended family that we are "always in our room!" Simply calling our names wouldn't be an option, as that would take too much effort. Anywho- it worked! She no longer can talk 'trash' about how we are unreachable. It's simple enough so that she only accidentally presses the power button once a week or so when she is trying to press "talk" so that starts a bit of drama until I simply press it back on for her. My main complaint is the volume!! I'm happy that it can get nice and loud for her end so that she can actually hear us, but on our end... Holy Jesus. It's loud. On the lowest setting it literally makes us jump whenever it goes off and we immediately have to stuff it under a pillow so that our ear drums don't bust into a million throbbing little pieces.I kinda wish that we could like limit the amount of times she can talk to us on it. The first few days she would literally have a full on back and forth conversation about peanut butter or something else just as stupid, but as the novelty wore off so did her conversations.Anyways, good overall but a few things I would change

The talk button is a hard for my elderly father to press. The talk and the on/off button are too close together and we will sometimes press the on/off instead of the talk button especially if you're not looking at intercom.

This is a 16 channel walkie-talkie system that can also be used as an intercom system. I ordered the two-piece version so the bundle includes a pair of belt clips, charging stations along with the radios themselves. They arrived practically fully charged so I was able to test them right away. The audio quality is excellent and so is the range on these things. My first impressions on these were on the good side as none of the components felt cheap. All seem to at least feel quite nice and well built.It's easy to operate as the buttons are labeled intuitively and I didn't need to consult the manual to get started right away. It lacks a screen so it uses the built-in speakers to let the user know the number of the channel they're on when the arrow buttons are pressed. It also has a "lock" button that when held for 5 seconds, prevents accidental channel changes. The volume button cycles between 4 preset volumes which can get conversational levels to loudspeaker levels. Of course, there's the power and the talk buttons to do just that.To close, I think this serves as an excellent intercom system for the indoors. The audio quality is clear and did not pick up random transmissions on the few channels I was on for testing purposes. 5 out of 5 stars based on the strengths of the product as elaborated thus far.
