Actually works: bite-free on woodland walks
I have sensitive skin, and am prone to getting bitten by mosquitos. I have bad reactions to bites and am desperate for a deterrent, and having it in a suncream is super convenient for the Summer.Pros:• Smells refreshing and stunning• Thin and goes on well• Doesn't irritate skin• Works to repel insectsCons:• PriceyBrand ===I have used Green People before, and know they have quality products and trust their brand. This is also organic, which explains the pricing, but it is quite a stretch for those that may not be able to afford this.Use ===The bottle isn't the largest, but the cream is quite watery so goes on thinly and spreads well. It does need a good shake to mix it nicely.I got this mostly for woodland walks. I've been going for walks with my legs out and finding myself getting bitten mercilessly by mosquitos and midges, especially when going into the later hours of the day.I've trialled this a good few times over the last 4 weeks, and even if it's not really sunny I've been using it. It's SPF 15, so not the most potent sun protection, but I do want to tan so this suits me fine! Plus I'm more inclined to actually use it too.Effectiveness ===So far, so good. Funnily enough I've not had any bites since wearing this! Extremely hard to tell if it's the changing of the seasons but it's pretty amazing that I've had no issues. It does smell relatively strongly of peppermint, which I'm happy with, but if you don't like mint maybe this isn't for you! But the bugs don't like it and that's what counts.Convict ===I'd definitely recommend this. As it's fine for gentle skin as well, I use it on my little 3 year old as insects and they particularly seem to like her. So far, so good and no flare-ups of eczema.A bit expensive but totally worth it, if you can afford it. The ingredients work and it smells divine. 5 stars!

A reasonable choice for those who are looking for a more natural sunscreen
The Green People SPF15 Sun Cream with Natural Insect Repellent is a natural and organic sunscreen that provides broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB rays ( zinc oxide) while also repelling insects (Citrepel® - which is p-menthane-3,8-diol.). It is made from a large number of ingredients and the claims state that some are organic 71.5% most are natural 99% but there is 1% synthetic product.Zinc Oxide is an established sun protector - although the product does not state the concentration of added zinc oxide - so I hope it is sufficient. I have not had sufficient time to test it as a sunscreen.Citrepel contains p-menthane-3,8-diol (PMD) naturally found in eucalyptus and citronella at very low concentrations and is made synthetically so the concentration is sufficient. In this preparation the claim is that it contains Citrepel 75 - which is the highest concentration and if so may not be suitable for children. For some unknown reason neither citrepel not PMD is listed in the ingredients on the product or in the product information. It is uncertain how effective the Citrepel will be as an insect repellent in this preparation. The reason being that Citrepel is manufactured as an insect repellent and is formulated as such by the company who developed it. It does work as an insect repellent - most probably not as effective as DEET 50%(although I cannot find comparative studies) - but citrepel does work as an insect repellent. But it is uncertain if citrepel 75 will work as an insect repellant in the sun screen formulation. So if you are in an area with dangerous biting insects I would use DEET.The Green people sunscreen has a pleasant scent and spreads easily on the skin and is non-greasy. It is water resistant but should be reapplied on the skin after swimming. The current price is £22.50 for 100 ml which is quite expensive but the 100 ml is a good size as you can have it in flight hand luggage.Overall the Green People SPF15 Sun Cream with Natural Insect Repellent is a reasonable choice for those who are looking for a more natural and organic sunscreen that may also provide an insect repellent.

Good
The combination of sun protection and insect repellent in one convenient tube is a brilliant idea, especially for someone like me who spends a lot of time outdoors. One of the first things I noticed is that it doesn’t have that overpowering chemical smell often associated with insect repellents. Instead, the scent is quite mild, which is a big plus for me. The sunscreen itself is more liquid than I’m used to, but it absorbs well into the skin without leaving a greasy residue. This makes it comfortable to wear, even on hot, humid days. However, I did notice that it leaves a bit of a white cast, so your skin may look a little paler after application. While this might not be ideal for everyone, I’m willing to overlook it because I prioritize skin protection. The SPF 15 rating is a bit lighter than the higher SPFs I usually go for, but it’s perfect if you’re looking to protect your skin while still allowing for a bit of tanning. It strikes a good balance between protection and getting some sun.The packaging is pretty standard, but I appreciate that it’s organic. Knowing that I’m using something better for both my skin and the environment gives me peace of mind. Plus, the 100ml size is really handy for travel it fits perfectly in hand luggage, so you can take it with you on flights without any issues.
