This module is ideally suited to light detection, typically seen in project robots and daylight systems. The APDS-9960 chipset operates accross the 360 - 970nm wavelength range, which is similar to the human eyes responsivity to provide ambient light and RGB colour sensing. Further to this the module provides directional gesture recognition for a more hands off interface.The APDS-9960 is commonly found in mobile phones and tablets, where a measure of the ambient light is used to adjust the display's brightness.
