These worked great for me! I had 2 fobs. One in ok shape and the other in pieces after a previous owner tried to change the battery I suspect. So I started with the one in pieces. Watch the video to get a basic idea of assembly. I used the key, spring, & button from the original fob. First place the silver battery terminal in place on the edge of the battery compartment. It sits behind two small tabs. Place the circuit board with the buttons into the button half of the case. It should fall into place with an alignment tab into a slot on the circuit board. Set it aside. Take your key, spring, & button. Make sure the button is properly aligned with the slots in the key. When it protrudes the most it is right, otherwise it’ll barely stick out. Now the fun part. Place the key, button, spring assembly onto the back half of the fob, wind it once counter clockwise, and press the key down into the closed position. If it doesn’t lay flat your button isn’t aligned properly. Then holding that in place take the other half of the case, align them together, and carefully snap them together. It may take a few tries or extra hand. Now try the key button. If the key doesn’t flip open easily, try two turns on the spring. Install a new battery and the cover should easily snap into place. Now try the remote! Getting into the other remote wasn’t easy. I used a flat tip screwdriver in the slots at the top of the remote where the key attaches. I twisted the tip to break the glued halves apart at the top and just enough on the two sides to get them pried just far enough for the circuit board to slip out. DON’T get in a hurry and damage the board. These do work and are a great bargain at this price. The buttons are a bit stiff due to being a flexible plastic instead of rubber but not bad at all in my opinion.

Make sure you pay attention to what part goes where. Great product, easy to assemble and reassemble. I didn’t even need to program the key, that’s how excellent it works. Much better than paying a dealer for a new fob!

Great shells. The stock ones on my 2015 Malibu started falling apart. I used a hot air gun and metal spudgers to heat then separate the stock key. I used the spring and gear from this replacement, but the full keys from my originals. One of my originals the stock switch was damaged when the stock shell died last week but I was able to repair it easily enough with some kapton tape. Then just tossed the parts in these shells and put it all together. If it wasn't for the Chevy logo now being a black dot you'd never know these aren't the stock keys. Adding an extra half twist to the spring also makes it snap open really cleanly. I had no need to sand or otherwise modify either shell like I saw in sleep other reviews, nor did I need to knock out the roll pin in the key arm since I just used the full factory arm. The included screwdrivers get the job done, but if I didn't have spudgers and a heat gun I'd likely have needed to damage the original shells and it might have taken more than the ~2 mins of heating and 15s of opening. I wanted to be careful in case I needed to put them back together so I was taking my time and it was still under 5 minutes to do both keys.
