Clay Pomade

I got this Samson’s hair pomade for my husband, and he absolutely loves it! It gives his hair the perfect hold without feeling heavy or greasy, and the matte finish looks natural and polished. This stuff is great! It’s water-based and super easy for him to wash out at the end of the day. He also loves the light, clean scent—it’s subtle but really nice. His hair looks amazing, and I’ve noticed him reaching for this every day instead over his tried and true hair product. If you’re looking for a high-quality styling product, this is a fantastic choice. My husband is a fan, and I love how great his hair looks with it! It’s well priced for what you get, what it does and how long it lasts!

I have the hardest time finding a hair product that gives me really good hold without looking super obvious. I opened Samson's and immediately was impressed. It just kept getting more impressive. Honestly, I love this stuff. This is a clay pomade that offers a matte finish. This is a 3-ounce jar. I was a little surprised it didn't have any sort of seal under the cap, however, it didn't bother me. It just surprised me. This is scented, though I'd consider it pretty light. It's got Sandalwood, Bergamot, Frankincense, and Amber. It's a great combo and quite effective. There's something about the clay that I absolutely love. It's just the perfect texture and it holds beautifully. I also really love the matte finish. I don't want shiny hair and this really just makes my hair hold in place and look healthy. I'm absolutely in love with this clay pomade. I'm using it every single day. An absolute winner.

Hair type: fine & short (above-the-ear) Scalp type: oily & sensitive I like the texture of this clay pomade. It spreads easily and applies well on my hair. I did not experience chunks of product lingering on my hair. The final look is as per the product listing – one that is matte. I also did not experience any issue with it on my oily and sensitive scalp. In terms of holding power, it didn’t last for me. The look that I had created lasted for perhaps one or two hours only. To be fair, given my fine hair, I typically need to follow up with a fine mist hair spray to extend the longevity of my hair products (be it a gel or clay pomade).

I usually use gel and go for a "wet" look. But I also like trying out new looks and since, recently, it's been difficult to find my favorite hair gel, I decided to give this a try. It's definitely an adjustment since it has to go on dry hair. I feel like this works best when my hair is freshly cut and relatively short. As otherwise I feel like it takes more product to achieve a decent look. It also smells pretty nice though it is a little strong at first. The scent also lasts for hours, and though it seems to dissipate over time, it almost "reawakens" when touching your hair. Overall a pretty nice hair product, and though a little pricey, it's offset by the fact that it uses natural ingredients. I'm looking forward to trying out other Samson's products.

This arrived from the vendor in a tape sealed bag around outside of the jar. There was no best by date anywhere, no outer jar or inner jar seal to prevent leaks or show it was tamper evident sealed. This has an appealing smell that is like room incense but it doesn’t follow you around the room. You’d need to be close to someone for them to smell, which I think is perfect. A small pinch will do shorter styles of hair & keep it nicely shaped the way you combed it. It blends in with a bit of highlighting that most folks who don’t see you everyday will assume is a healthy natural look. It’s not time consuming to use or to wash away, and we really like it.

Samson's Haircare Pomade is a solid choice for those looking for a lightweight, medium hold without added shine. Its subtle scent is pleasant but not overwhelming, and a little goes a long way for maintaining shape in shorter styles. While the thick consistency requires some effort to work into the hair, it results in a strong, natural look once applied. My teenage son likes to try hair products, as he is always on the quest for the "perfect" routine. This pomade is interesting because it doesn't change the sheen of your hair but does help with body and lift. It's not the longest lasting out there but it is all natural, which i appreciate in products so close to the scalp. :) I would buy this one again. Don't love that it has a smell but the smell fades pretty quick.
