how big is this cheese cutter? would it cut 4kg blocks of cheese?

Hello and thanks for your message. This cheese board cutting surface measures 250mm x 270mm, although we have cut big cheese blocks with a little overhanging the surface. These boards will cope fine with 5kg blocks of cheese. We use these boards all the time and they are the original HANDEE Cheese Cutter from Digby & Nelson, Made in England. How easy is this to clean? I’m thinking particularly of the groove on the base board. Is the unit dishwasher safe?

I've just brought one, so far it's been easy to clean apart from with the wax covered cheeses where the wax stained the surface but with a bit of elbow grease the stain did come out. I clean straight after use and have not yet had a problem with the groove getting clogged, the wire is a bit of a faff to clean but once I had figured out a method it's not too frustrating. I've not got a dishwasher so cannot answer that part, sorry :)
