Love this kit. As a beginner, the instructions were very clear. Watching the video helped. The cow took about 2.5 hours. Would recommend!

This is the first time I have tried felting. I found it to be a good introductory kit to see if it is a new hobby I want to start. The instructions were clear enough to get the idea of what to do in the videos (accessed via QRL).It definitely takes some practice and care. I made the chicken and it turned out fun. I'm working on a couple others at the moment. The kit has enough material to make all of the animals pictured as long as you don't oversize them.It would be easier if the felting pad was larger. I also think the needles could be better. They were a bit oxidized (four single straight needles included). The videos have someone using multipoint needles and these are not included, leaving some uncertainty about how to get the right final project with just single needles. I have jabbed myself quite a few times. The blue tape included did not save me; it is just a hazard of the hobby!

I do a lot of different crafts, but this was my first time needle felting. This kit comes with all the colors you need to make the animals in the kit, plus four needles and a felting mat. The instructions for the animals are online in both video and PDF formats (though there are paper instructions in the kit for one of them, I think the cow). I ended up following the PDFs for the duck and the chicken I made. It was easy to follow, though the chicken instructions left out the tail feathers that were in the picture, so I just added my own. I really like this kit and enjoyed sculpting with wool!

I've taken a few needle felting classes, so I may not have been the target audience for this product. But it does give a bit of insight to the contents.My foremost complaint about this kit is that the needles I received were tarnished/rusty. Given the likelihood of sticking yourself at least a few times, I would be uncomfortable using these particular items. The pad for felting on is also tiny.The instructions to create the animals were decent but could have been more specific about topics such as how much fiber to start with for the base, how tightly to roll it, and what the finished stiffness should be. Only three of the pictured animals were included in the package instructions, so if you want to make the others you'll need to go online via the included QR code. The online videos are zoomed out too far, IMO, to see the details of the process.I'm skeptical there is enough wool to create all of the animals pictured, due to the limited amount of base wool included. The packaging should be more clear that these are the types of animals you can make, rather than suggesting you'll have enough materials to make them all.

I started by making a chicken using a video on their web site. The videos are clear and easy to understand, making the learning curve short! I've always been a bit intimidated by needle felting, but it was so easy. I made the chicken in about an hour.There is so much wool! It's impossible to calculate how many critters you can make from it. You can definitely make a farmyard full of animals and more from what's included! And, I will say that a little wool goes a long way. I started with too much in the beginning, but if you don't pull out enough it's easy to add more as you start shaping. The wool is clean (with only a few minor bits of leaves or twigs), soft, and does not have an odor.For kids who can handle sharp needles this would be a fun craft for them. As an adult, I also enjoyed it and am psyched to make more and improve upon my skills! The Woolbuddy Needle Felting Kit makes it easy by including everything you need to get started!
