How large is the delivery package ?

I see the shelves are 180cm tall. Bit too tall for my shed, is it possible to take the top layer off both and also create a smaller shelf?

The shelves need to be assembled .the metal uprights can be cut down and the shelving depth adjusted as required.

Can you make 4 shorter shelves by not connecting the the hight adapters?

Yes you can make shorter units. I used mine to make 1 tall unit with two extra shelves and 1 short unit with a middle shelf. The thing to consider though, I think there are only 8 feet so you might not have feet for two of them. Two of them will also not have a middle shelf, just a top and bottom.

Do I need any tools to install these shelves ?

These only required a rubber headed mallet for me to assemble them. Even though there's a bit of a knack to putting these together I found it really straight forward and was able to assemble these on my own (without any assistance!) To put this into context - I am a female, over 60 and only 1.60m tall but was still able to manage assembling these very quickly and easily. They feel a bit unstable during the early stages of the assembly but once complete are a really sturdy set of shelves. I would thoroughly recommend them.
