Best tool I've bought in a while
I got these siding instalation tools to help with putting up cement siding on an addition we're working on. These were an absolute game changer for installing the siding. They are a very simple tool and did a fantastic job. They hold each course good and secure and keep the spacing perfectly. After leveling and chalking our first 2 courses, we used these for the spacing from there up 9ft and everything stayed dead on. They are super easy to use as they just slip behind the previous course and using the handle, gently tighten until just snug. It doesn't take much at all and they are not going anywhere even with a 12ft piece of cement board sitting on top of it. Tightening too much will cause the top to kick out and not sit tight. Backing off the tension a little fixes that and makes it sit flat against the siding. I've only used it on 1/4, 5/16 cement siding so I've not been able to try the shims for doing thicker siding but I like that this tool gives that option. Others I looked at do not offer that. For the money, this is great addition to have if you plan on doing a siding project or if you do it all the time. It'll help save time and frustration.

Works as discribed , Pulls away when locking a little but better than paying a dummy to hold the other end !!

Warning
Like others have said, when these tools are clamped down, it creates a large gap that enables the siding to fall past the guage stop. It defeats the purpose of the tool. I rated 5 stars only to get to the top of the reviews. This is not a five star product!

Best investment
One of the smartest investments ever! My husband can put up the siding on our house by himself. He likes the ease of use. Takes half the time to hang siding.

Siding tools
These fiber cement siding tools are great for 3 different sizes. They send a 2 other spacers so you can do 3/8 and 7/16 thickness. Great product
