1. Overall design & feel of this phone feels very premium.2. Battery backup is good.3. Camera quality is good but camera app features are lees .4. Sound is less louder.5. Lava O2 is the most fastest and amazing phone under 8k. I bought it for 7,499 in sale. It's performance has not disappointed me for once. Alltho am giving 4 stars because phone has heating issues. I've been using it for a few days so here's my opinion on the topics :-• Battery life : Average for a 8k Phone can easily give a 6hr run time while playing games.• Quality : Build Quality is 10/10. Phone gives an expensive look. Overall good.• Camera : Average, back camera can be improved.• Sound Quality : Sound quality is good too and speakers are fine as well.• Gaming : Light gaming can be done but playing heavy games like BGMI and COD can cause heating. For normal gaming like roblox, Subway surfer, etc. . It's good.• Heating : The phone heats up quite fast. It's heating the most while charging.• Easy to use : It's actually smooth and it's ram is also good which gives a smooth experience.• RAM and ROM : Compared to other companies, lava gives more ROM and it's 8gb ram is also very efficient. Expandable Ram hasn't been in much use but it's smooth.You can't expect a 8k Phone to compete iPhone or other expensive phones. It's the best one in the segment. Go for it, it's Indian and efficient.

27 June 2024I purchased this phone on 10th April 2024 primarily for business use, as it offers a clean Android experience.I also use the device for personal activities and software testing, and it performs really well. The phone provides good performanceand battery life considering its price.However, I've encountered several issues with the device:1. The LAVA Dialer app doesn't display the most relevant contact when I search for a contact using their first few initial letters. Instead, it matches the characters in between the first name. This was a very frustrating experience. Additionally, the app lacks the ability to identify spam calls. It would be helpful if it could use Google Maps or another service to find the name of the business associated with the caller.2. When I open the Google Photos app, the display brightness automatically turns to 100%, and I haven't been able to find a solution for this issue in the settings.3. The fingerprint (biometric) sensor sometimes triggers the YouTube video player's UI controls, and I haven't been able to find a solution for this issue either.4. The brightness slider doesn't update the brightness percentage value in real-time. It only updates when I release the slider after adjusting the brightness.5. I keep the display fixed at a 60Hz refresh rate to conserve power, but I've noticed that the UI jitters when navigating the phone, not just when using apps.6. It would be really convenient if I could see the date with a single swipe down of the notification bar.UPDATE: 19 May 2025Received the Android 14 upgrade a while ago,1. The LAVA Dialer still have the issue, I have to rename the contacts such that the contact I search for appears first and the other issues I mentioned still persists.2. The Google Photos App still have the problem.3. The biometric sensor triggering the elements in YouTube players UI is resolved.4. The brightness slider is fixed.5. The UX is improved, navigation throught the phone now feels smoother.6. I can now see the date and time with a single swipe down.7. This new upgrade brings one problem, Whenever the `Stop App After Screen Lock` feature does its job it pushes a silent notification for the particular app it blocks which is fine but there is no way to disable its notifications and it pushes notifications everytime, which isannoying.UPDATE: 13 JUN 2025I used the code *#07# on the LAVA Dialer and it returned SAR Value of <1.6 W/kg which is concerning, why is LAVA not showing the accurate values like other brands? I mean it can be 1.59 W/kg who knows! Reducing two stars from the review.Next time I'll consider the brand which are transparent to their users and does good R&D.UPDATE: 03 JULY 2025The background apps wont close even after tapping the 'clear all' button, swiping the recent apps upside doesn't work either.Capturing photographs takes ages, I've to shut off HDR to capture photos, the photo quality has got worse and the focus is extremely sluggish, it takes ages to focus!Changed title from ''Performs well considering its price'' to ''Poor R&D, I wonder if their flagship devices have similar issues''.Deducting one star from this review.I will keep this review updated ....
