Spalding Slam Jam Door Hoop

I typically don't write reviews, but I will for this hoop. Product shipping was delayed due to the Pandemic- totally understandable. Due to being stuck at home all the time, I was looking for a basketball hoop to play with outside. My child is 4, so a standard hoop is much too big right now, but a plastic toddler hoop is too small given his height. This was the perfect compromise. It assembled quickly and easily. It appears to be very sturdy, not flimsy like the cheaper made ones. You do require a pump for the ball, but we already had one, so that was a non-issue. It hung easily over his bedroom door, however, we were able to hang it easily over a beam in our garage for outside play. It provides just enough of a challenge for my 4 year old and keeps him busy for hours. 5 stars. Will update later with durability information after I see it in play for awhile.

I think its a pretty good indoor mini basketball hoop. I will address some reviews I read; rim moves too much, getting it to fit over the door, air pump, mini basketball weight, cheapness. First of all, the rim does move but no where near as significant as others are stating, it's an indoor slap it on the top hoop not a professionally installed indoor rim mounted to your walls. Two, this set-up fits on top of commonly used inside doors, you can't be angry because it doesn't fit your oversized door but it is a good thing to mention. Also, I didn't know that the mini basketball actually took real air. I thought it was cool instead of being some cheap foam basketball. So yes, you need an air pump but most people who have kids in sports probably already have one, if you're nickel & diming this maybe you shouldn't have purchased it. The Mini basketball weight is actually very important, it's heavy. I don't believe it's suitable for many indoor places where you might have paintings on walls, coffee tables w/glass, or vases. I bought a $5 cotton filled 2-3 inches in diameter Chicago bulls mini basketball (from Chicago for 99% of my life just moved out finally). Lastly, cheapness, how much did this cost you? Some people are acting as if this costed $100 w/a lifetime guarantee from China. It's good for what it is, end of story. This review might be jerky but some comments I read were ridiculous on the complaints department.

Four stars instead of 5 because it didn’t fit over my doorframe properly (yes, I did it right and had other people check as well). I wanted it wall mounted anyway. Had originally planned to give this 3 stars but I was able to navigate it ok and the sturdiness and quality of the rim and backboard were unparalleled to my hatred for the design flaws. Anyway, so to still wall mount it, I used the heavy command strips on where the back or the door hook/panel would go. The over the door mount is basically permanently stuck to the backboard so to not have this dangling backboard I cut out cardboard squares and superglued them together then command stripped them too. Originally i was like ya i can get this mount off but nope. Lol. It’s stuck. For the cardboard i cut, It’s important to line them up to the correct thickness. This actually worked out very well because it provides a mild spring so when the ball hits the backboard it doesn’t make a standard loud smack noise. I also got the 5” foam ball bc I wasn’t about to take the paint off with the unnecessarily heavy Spalding ball that was included (no, there’s no pump to blow that up either and no I will not ever use it on this goal). For the people saying this is a junk goal, Idk how rough you’re playing on it?? Lol I just shoot around my room and never dramatically slam down on the rim. The rim is sturdy and reliable and I have done a few “tests” - it’s fine but just seems stupid to hang on it. I’ve been shooting on it for months with this setup and have had a great experience. Just take care of the goal and it works awesome. I imagine children wildly dunking and hanging on it would make it fall apart but that doesn’t make the quality design and product trash haha just like you wouldn’t blame a mountain bike for breaking if you went and intentionally slammed it against boulders or crashed it off a hill. My friends love using it too

Well made backboard and hoop to hang on the door. Definitely worth the money. Easy to put together, just 3 nuts and bolts (10mm). It is loud as others have stated. The bolts will mark the door if you don't add some kind of foam insulation which will also help with the noise. The rim is steel, with a spring that'll give a little but no hanging on it. The backboard will break before the rim that's for sure. Then you can just mount the rim somewhere else. Comes with a good net & ball (have a pump handy to inflat the ball). Grandkid is going to love it! Don't hesitate to buy.

This is a great indoor hoop. I bought on sale on Black Friday for about $22, which I think is the right price. At $30 it's still probably worth it, but value conscious shoppers might want to wait for another sale. The overall construction of the hoop is fantastic. Plexiglass back w/ hard metal rim and breakaway springs for those monster indoor dunks. It really feels like a sturdy board. It also comes with a real rubber ball. It's worth noting that you will need a pump w/ standard sports ball needle to inflate the ball though. This was purchased for an office where we occasionally need to let off some steam (or stretch our legs after sitting for hours). To that end, we have a great time. It's also a solid remind that even when the hoop is 6 feet away and almost at my height, I'm still not a great basketball player. There go my dreams of an NBA career. The Bottom Line: If you can get this hoop for under $25, it's a fantastic deal. It feels like the real thing and you have it up and running in no time so you and your coworkers can have a daily reminder that there's a reason you sit behind a computer and not on an NBA bench for a living.

My son hangs it on his bedroom door and absolutely loves it, best gift ever. Very sturdy and padding to protect the door and removable when you need to close the door. The basketball aslo bounces well once inflated fully.

this thing was really great, I just think it might not have been right for me but it was well made and easy to put together so, rather than return it, I gave it to the kids downstairs. why wasn't it right for me? The ball was too good and thus too loud

Nice basketball mini board though very loud if used with the included ball. Be prepared for the noise cause the kids love it

Ich bin mit dem Produkt vollkommen zufrieden ich finde es ist gut verarbeitet und hält an meiner Tür. Mehr kann ich nicht verlangen. Den Ball finde ich auch sehr putzig. Bin froh das es ein richtiger kleiner Basketball 🏀 und nicht so ein schaumstoff Ball ist.

Está padrísima, buen material y muy bien hecha. Muy fácil de armar y viene con protecciones para que no se maltraten las puertas o donde la pongas. El balón esta muy bien aunque no se porque no lo puedo inflar al 100, pero aún así vota muy bien. En otros sitios la he visto mínimo al doble de su precio.
