Fantastic Camera - Buy it
Buy it ! This camera at this price cannot be beaten. I have 3 other V3's and this new version is fantastic. Extra Plus is the Spotlight which can be turned on or off or to go on with motion. Set up took 1 minute. Crystal clear picture even on 2.5. The motion detection is fantastic. Using the SD card for storage. Buy it. Highly recommended

Must have. Better than Ring IMO
Must have security camera!! They are a fraction of the cost of Ring, smaller in size and have way better functions, and super simple to install. Built in night light, night vision, clear day vision, adjustable vision sensors, adjustable sound sensors and best part.....you don't need a subscription if you don't want to. The plain basic function works great, just not as many function selections. Can only order 3 at a time. They sell longer cords if need be which is really nice too.

Really excellent camera system with great quality video, easy to set up and no subscription!
Really great camera system! VERY easy to set up, super clear video feed and can live stream (whereas the Blink system only shows a few seconds at a time). A lot of value for the price! You can also log in online from anywhere to see your cameras on a laptop or whatnot. Very impressed - using them for foaling season at a horse farm and quite pleased. Highly recommend.

Great camera for the price. Detection zone adjustment doesn’t work.
Easy to setup. Good quality pictures and videos. If you want the “Ai” to work (it tells you if it sees a human, car, dog…etc) You need to pay for the subscription. If you want it to record when it detects movement. You need to pay for the subscription or just buy a SD card for the camera. I did not purchase the subscription and just got a SD card. It detects movement and records the video to the SD card well. If you’re using it outdoors. You need to buy the outdoor cable separately. I’d give this 5 starts. But the “detection zone” you can adjust simply does not work. A google search verified this. It constantly picks up cars driving by and it shouldn’t. I have the detection zone set to not detect the street and it still does. But for the price it’s still a good camera.

Good quality products, easy to set up and use.
Ive had Wyze cameras for years, they are well made and seem to be dependable. There are some occasional problems but very few. Most of the problems are due to power outages more than the camera. They are easy to set up, the quality of the video is very good with it being 1080 resolution or better. Sound quality is adequate, considering the size of the camera, (about a 2 inch cube)there is just not room for a high quality mic and speaker. Not great quality audio, but adequate. These are super easy to set up using the Wyze app on your phone. You can use the app to view the camera feed and even share it with someone so they can view too. There is an option to pay for cloud storage or you can use a micro sd memory card too. I've been pleased with my cameras, switches, and bulbs.

BEST SAMSUNG SMARTCAM+ REPLACEMENT
I have 5 of these so far in addition to 19 Blink Cams. The Wyze v4 is a great addition to the Amazon cams if you want 24/7 live coverage of a scene without counting on movement. Most likely you, as I do have an application for both types. The Wyze does not have discernable fish eye distortion, has very clear picture and is a low light cam bringing coverage to night time scenes. Recommend you pay extra for the 256 g on board storage sd in addition to the unlimited cloud plan. Once you try this camera you will want to get more.

visual imaging is great but App is the worst!
I've been using this camera for about two weeks, and I am a paid subscriber to the basic paid version. The first week, everything worked great. But since the start of the second week, the App has been flaky. For example, over the last three days, I go to bed with all events being recorded and correctly sorted by imaging A.I. Then after awaking and having breakfast (with cars and people going past my windows for about an hour), I take my coffee to my home office, open the App to see what events had been recorded since last evening--and there are no events of any kind. After trying this and that, it seems that after I get around to resetting the camera and resetting my subscription, that new events resume being added. But there are still no events showing for a ~12 hour overnight and early daylight period. Worse is attempting to view events through my PC's online browsers (Google Chrome and MS Edge). Again, the live view is fantastically good during both daylight and at night (despite the low outside lighting here), but trying to view events is a horror show. For come reason, I have to fight with the settings to get the website to display the current day's events. Even when I try to clear everything, the original calendar setting returns eventually (which is the date I first installed the camera to yesterday's date). When I try to set the online viewing website to the current day's date , the current date on the website's calendar appears surrounded by a faded blue circle instead of the solid blue I believe should be the color of a selected date, and as one might expect, no events are shown for the current date even though I had a few hours earlier viewed cars in my browser being tagged by the App as the cars go by. I've tried both browsers, I've tried closing and opening the browsers, but as with the App itself, I eventually get it to work, I believe after resetting the camera and my paid subscription and restarting everything. But once it starts working, the missing overnight events remain missing. And then when it works, it seems to only present the viewer using the website with events for the past two hours even though I set the event time parameter for the last 12 hours. Worst, when going through the thumbnails, the user reaches the last of that two hour's worth of thumbnails, and the thumbnails just start over again, apparently in an endless loop. The first few times I went through this, I didn't realize at first that I was seeing the same events a second time. Also, I could swear that after the App updates, it changes one or more of the settings I made. I've wasted hours fighting with this software and other nonsense. It's a shame. Although I've only been using the camera for a short while, so I cannot attest to its durability, the hardware has nonetheless impressed, as has the accuracy of the artificial intelligence used to identify the various activities (possibly 97% accurate when it comes to images, though somewhat less when it comes to sounds). But that is then ruined by the Apps unreliability. And yes, I do have an SSD card installed (Wyze brand card), and I have the App set to continually record everything the lens sees. But searching by time is nowhere near as convenient as searching and more time consuming than searching for an event (what time was it when I heard that noise outside, I think it woke me up about 3am). So far, the best value of the camera is live viewing. Should something really important have happened, hopefully in a worst-case scenario, claiming a ladder to remove the SSD card from the camera and then sticking it into my PC might be more convenient for finding a recording of a particular incident that the App failed to save as an event. UPDATE: my paid subscription continues to stop working once or twice a day. This most often occurs overnight. During such outages, my camera fails to record events of any kind. I have SSD cards in all cameras, which do seem to record everything, but scrolling through an SSD without events is tedious and worthless unless one is looking for a specific time. I have the App installed on a Samsung Android Tablet and on a Moto G phone. When my subscription fails to work, both my phone and Samsung tablet stop recording events (though while the the SSD card in the camera also fails to record those events, it nonetheless does record continuous 24/7 video). I have decided to buy another brand of cameras for outdoor surveillance. I will continue to keep and use the three wyze camera's I already installed because they are more work to remove than the refund is worth. As soon as I find a better camera brand, I will end my paid subscription to wyze and use them for nature watching and keeping an eye on my basement while recording 24/7 to SSD cards. One more thing: I am powering this camera using the Wyze outdoor light fixture adapter. It's possible the problem is being caused by the adapter because I have another Wyze camera, albeit of an earlier version, on my back deck that is powered by an electric outlet adapter, and this Wyze camera records events faithfully (In seven months, maybe once or twice I had to reset the camera or unplug and replug it into the electrical outlet). So the difference could be in the kind of adapter I'm using or it might be that the earlier Wyze version was more reliable than the newest version (V4) that I am using with the lamp socket adapter.

Great camera!
Great camera for a great price! We always used Ring but this camera is way better! You’re able to turn it on and off from your phone. Super easy to set up and stick to the wall. It doesn’t involve mounting, is magnetic and comes with a magnet and a sticky ring to put on the back of the magnet so you can stick it to the wall. We’ve had it up for a week now and so far it’s on the wall pretty good. So far we haven’t had any connectivity issues. It’s not wireless so make sure you have an outlet near where you plan to put it. We definitely plan on getting more Wyze cameras in the future.

Great clear pictures. App user friendly. Like the motion recordings. Subscription reasonably priced.

⭐⭐ I’m impressed!! I purchased two of the Wyze Cam v4 (2.5K HD) cameras about four months ago, and overall I’m very happy with them. Below is a breakdown of what works well and what I’ve noticed. What I Like: 1. Image quality & night vision: The clarity is excellent, even in low light. The color night vision is a big upgrade over older security cams I’ve used (Lorex). I can make out faces and details at night. I compared this to my Ring Doorbell 3 Plus that I reinstalled at the same time as these, and it’s not a comparison at all. The Wyze (to be fair, it’s newer and has more advanced technology) is much clearer during the day, and especially at night. At night, the Ring only works for items up close and rarely catches movement more than about six feet away. 2. Indoor/outdoor flexibility: These are weather rated (IP65), so I’ve used one outside under a covered porch and one on the eve of the house. The one on the eve is exposed to so much more weather, and is handling it like a champ. They handle light rain/dampness just fine (so far)…snow is coming; we will see about how that is! 3. Motion-activated spotlight + siren: When motion is detected, the LED spotlight and voice warning kick in. Both are optional and you can shut them off, but having the spot light turn on is lovely. This light is bright enough to avoid putting on our outside light at night. This is helpful as a deterrent. The siren is fairly loud, but not something I require the use of. 4. Setup & app usability: Setup was straightforward. The magnets on the bases are amazing, plus each cam comes with permanent mounting hardware. I have yet to use the permanent mounts; the magnets are prefect. The one cam is stuck upside down to a metal piece under the eve, and it’s stayed through crazy wind and weather without issue. The other is resting on a screw on the handrail of the deck and it doesn’t move either. The Wyze app is intuitive, and switching between my two cameras is seamless. The dual audio (two-way) works well when I check in. 5. Value for money: For the features you get (2.5K resolution, weather rating, color night vision, motion alerts, etc.), this is a strong value. I feel like I got “more cam for the money.” Who’d have thought for $50 I could get a great quality security camera? ⚠️ What I’ve Noticed / What Could Be Better • Power / wiring limitations These are wired cameras (not battery based). If your location is far from a power outlet, you need to order longer cables. I had to order a couple of 20 foot cables separately since I didn’t have an outlet 5 feet away. This was a bit of a hassle. • Motion detection false positives: Occasionally, I get alerts from shifting shadows, or leaves/branches blowing in the wind. And sometimes I get alerts from rain. Let’s not forget spiderwebs and the odd moth. The detection isn’t perfect. You’ll want to fine-tune your sensitivity settings and zones to reduce false alerts. During rainstorms, I reduce my sensitivity a fair bit so if a still get alerts but not hundreds over a short period. • Latency / lag: There’s a slight (or sometimes a little longer) delay (a second or two, up to 5 to 10 seconds) between motion and when the live feed shows up. It’s not a deal breaker, but worth noting if you’re expecting instant response. I suspect this is due to my Wifi and not the cameras/app themselves. I did not want to wire any camera with Ethernet direct again, so this is the cost of using wireless, in my opinion. • Subscription vs local recording To get advanced features (person, package, pet detection), a Cam Plus subscription helps. But if you don’t want to pay, local microSD recording is viable, though you lose some “smart detection” features. And this was the basic subscription I got, not the Cam Unlimited Pro. The Unlimited Pro actually recognizes faces you have saved in the app as family/friends (which makes notifications of people a lot easier), allows you to search with a search button for specific events (rather than scrolling nonstop), 60 day cloud backup (vs 14 on Cam Plus), etc. I didn’t need this feature, but did want cloud backup so I chose the Cam Plus. 💡 Tips / Best Practices l • Place the camera at about 7–9 ft height (2–3 meters); high enough to reduce tampering, low enough for good detail. • Point the motion zone toward typical movement paths (walkway, door, driveway) to reduce stray triggers. • Use decent microSD cards (if using local storage); go for brands with good write speed and reliability. • Test the setup at night after installation to ensure the color night vision works well where you place it. In summary: If you’re looking for an affordable, capable camera for both indoor and outdoor use, the Wyze Cam v4 is a strong pick. Between my two units, I haven’t had any major issues yet, and I feel confident in their performance. Of course, like all cameras, they aren’t perfect; but for the price and features, I’d recommend it.

Much improved clarity compared to previous and the spotlight not only provides light but as it is motion sensitive it acts as a deterrent. Clearly recorded an intruder at 4am and aided in his apprehension.

Can't see the video recorded unless you need to pay monthly subscription for each camera.

Camera is fine and a reasonable priced at around £50 each but the cost of using the clever detection and storage feature is ridiculous. £140 per year for their enhanced detection. Anywhere you go in the app it is trying to flog you their subscription service. It also doesn't work with Apple Home which is why I bought it.
