MasontopsPickle Pebble Glass Infinity Weights for Fermenting - Pickling Weight Set - Small/Regular Mouth Mason Jar Fermentation

I started making sauerkraut and needed something to weigh down the cabbage. These pebbles were a better weight than other glass pebbles and I thought the design was better. I bought the smaller size to use in a widemouth jar as I read someone saying that it was really difficult to get them out. They did the job of keeping everything submerged, but I did use a large piece of cabbage leaf on the top before adding the glass pebble. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

These must be the only glass weights in the world that fit inside the neck of a Kilner 1l fermenting jar! I was beginning to loose all hope and thinking I would need to either come up with some other way to hold my food down in the jars while it ferments or get different mason jars and hope that all the other weights on sale that claim to fit inside 1l Kilner jars will actually fit inside the mason jar. If you have 1l Kilner jars like in my photo and are looking for weights please buy these. Now I can get on fermenting - thank you Masontops!

They fit regular mouth jars.

I deliberated for ages on whether to spend money on both the pickle pipes and pickle pebbles, and in the end I did and love them both. The pipes in particular do such a specific job that saves you time and having to remember to burp the bottles. The pebbles are great too and have a little indent to hold them. Am seriously considering the wide mouth versions now as well.

Ordered these as they were smaller and hoped they would fit the large mayonnaise jars I make sauerkraut in. Still too big for my jars

I like the size and weight and it does a good job keeping the vegetables from floating to the top of the jar so your fermented vegetables will not spoil, it stays firm in the pickling jar.

Great pickle pebbles. Just right for my pickled beans. Lovely weight, keeps everything nicely submerged in my Kilmer jars. Well packaged and safely delivered. Very happy with this purchase.

This review is for the Masontops size SMALL pickling weights.I bought these weights after searching Amazon for pickling weights that would fit the regular mouth canning jars and only finding these. All of the other weights, and there are many many choices, are made to fit the wide mouth canning jars. The regular mouth jars measure 2-3/8 inches and these weights are just a hair over 2.1 inches wide, so there is a bit of a gap when these weights are used with regular mouth jars. In my experience this gap is only a problem when the vegetables being canned are cut up into such small pieces that can float up and fit past the gap. As long as you keep that in mind these weights work very well.I gave these weights the full five stars despite not being sized to properly fit regular mouth jars because the product description does state the size up front as being 2.1 inches so there should have been no surprise. And they are the only pickling weights, AFAIK, that are sized for smaller jars. And they are also just well made weights.

I really like how these were packed. The box can be reused from use to use. The quality is good and they have a nice fingerhold. I recommend this product.

I bought this as a gift to a friend for Christmas. I got to know only now, by coincidence, that the package was missing 1 piece. I understand that this may be a mistake in production or return from another customer, either way it felt bad, especially considering that it was a gift 😞
