Worked when fired thru 2 x wood plate into old concrete
Fired my standard Remington low velocity power drive fasteners and these Fuscm low velocity fasteners through 1-1/2 inch wood plate stock into old concrete slab to test these out. I used a standard manual Ramset powered by green charges. Both fasteners fully seated in the wood plate and concrete just fine. The Fuscm fasteners are smooth shank. The other ones used were galvanized. The fastener head diameter is the same on both (.300”). The head thickness of the Fuscm fasteners is a little less than the other (photo). The shank diameter of the subject fasteners measured at 0.143” compared to .147” on the other brand (including fastener coatings). The plastic flute fit in the Ramset well. I extracted both fasteners to see how straight they stayed. The Fuscm shank bent a bit with an additional small dog-leg bend near the head ( see photo - other brand on left, the Fuscm one on the right). The bending is further reflected in the split in the plate responsive of the increased lateral force from the greater shank bend. In summary, these fasteners worked when fired through softwood (fir) and into cured concrete. These were installed about 2-1/4” from the plate end to help evaluate lateral forces during installation. I would tend to maintain a greater distance from the plate end to reduce the possibility of plate splitting.

Decent quality but....
These work well with very few quality issues. The only problem I've noticed is the washer is a little larger than the brand I usually get. Not an issue if you're just nailing boxes to a block wall, but the diameter of the washer makes it impossible to anchor 1/2 EMT 1-Hole straps as they simply won't fit between the hole and the conduit. 3/4" and larger works fine.

Very impressive, went into 70 year old HARDENED concrete like it was butter!
Was done with trying to drill into this super hardened cement to place framing hold down bolts! I Loaded these little gems into my pistol grip .22 cal. nail gun and pow, 3 seconds and done. Placed 12 of these within 5 minutes with NO effort. Not one of then bent or blasted out the receiving concrete. Would definitely recommend these, and the are offered in a variety of sizes.
