I like this and hasbecome my most used tool. Things are always labeled wrong on solenoids. This let's me know exactly what solenoid is open or not working.Cuts troubleshooting time down.Also use for priming pumps using the fresh water bypass.

So..... I have a low producing water well for house water. Slow enough that I need a storage tank which filling is held back by a gate valve (solenoid valve). However, I couldn't tell if the valve was opening or not. The solenoid went bad, so I wound up replacing everything with a more simplified setup. Still wanted to see if the valve was opening or not.Enter this guy. Simply put, place it over the shaft of the valve, and the magnet will pull the valve open. If its stuck closed, you won't hear any click of it opening from the magnetic pull. In my case, the valve was good, the solenoid was not. Too late I suppose, I had bought the replacement stuff already. In any event, I know my valves are good at least. I have backups when the replaced stuff goes bad (and it always does, doesn't it?).Handy tool to have. Very niche product though. If you're just a Joe Schmoe, you'd never need this. You'd just call a (in my case) plumber. But I betcha the plumber will probably have one of these. They're cheap enough, getcha one!Good luck!

I use this to manually open valves. On various equipment primary for service and troubleshooting. It's excellent because you can open valves without power which can be handy.Nothing too noteworthy about this, but it works, and it is MUCH more affordable than getting the special tool from **** so it gets 5 stars in my book.
