A Very Nice Little Player!
A Very Nice Little Player Overall! Small and simple and as such not the best sound quality or powerful volume but adequate on both counts. No external antenna to fuss with or break off and so had trouble tuning distant stations but has great reception for anything within 50 miles.I bought this for a friend as an alternative to a "sleep sounds" generator figuring she could pick the type of sounds she like best and load them onto a micro SD card on her laptop then play them on this. It's the only micro SD Player with stereo speakers I could find and it's perfect; plug in the card, turn it on and it plays! She did 8 hour MP3 files and this thing plays happily all night long on a single charge. Takes up to 32Mb micro SD cards.I brought myself one after seeing hers and recorded some long jazz files for background music in my office.Turn it on, it plays, turn it off and it stops; no technical effort required. Also connects to Bluetooth (which I haven't tried) and has a decent FM tuner with the nice feature of "direct entry" for stations from the keypad. To tune 104.5 you simply key in 1045 and you're there; you can also tune up or down continuously or "seek" stations sequentially. Has headphone output with better sound through good headphones.I wish BoomByte made a larger version of this with bigger speakers and a more powerful amp but the same features otherwise. I would definitely buy that! Until then "The Brick" will work nicely!Good value for the money. Easy controls, good FM tuning, rechargeable battery, 32Mb micro SD playback.

Killer MicroSD Portable Stereo!
Of the many small portable mono and stereo radios I've owned since the 60's this BoomByte has the best sound quality, battery life and function. I'm a simi audiophile who enjoys music almost anywhere, especially outdoors. My last small portable was a Melson S8 which had nice mono sound but finally died as the push buttons slowly became erratic. It's final demise was when it's old mini usb power connector broke off inside. I have others but their sound quality just doesn't cut it.The reviews on this Avantree Boombyte intrigued me enough to buy and I'm not disappointed at all. For it's small handheld size it packs some quality stereo sound. It's not a funky loud boombox. It's a nice little handheld personal Stereo with just the right amount of mp3 information displayed on its small screen.I couldn't find a user photo of the screen displaying the MicroSD MP3 info so I've included one here. Another must have for me is a good Random/Shuffle function. I only wish there was a dedicated button for it instead of having to open the menu and change selections with multiple choices. I arrange my favorite MP3's in alphabetic order by Artist name hyphen Song. When on my usual Random play and wish to hear another song from the same Artist I typically take it out of random then go back or forward to the Artist's song I wish to hear. A separate normal/random or programmable button would be fantastic. Frankly I would trade the FM button for it any day. Just have FM cycle through the "Mode" button. ex BT/FM/MP3 and make the dedicated FM button MP3 Random on/off!Photo from top to bottom:MicroSD symbol - Current song number with Total songs below - Random playFolder - ROOT or other if split into folders.Music Note Symbol - Scrolling file name left to rightPlay/Pause Symbol - Current track time hyphen / Total track timeOne final mention. If your songs, like mine, are generally at different volume levels causing a constant volume adjustment change between songs use a tool (program) such as freeware "MP3Gain" to equalize all of your music prior to copying to the microSD card. Speaking of, I'm using a Samsung 64GB exFAT card but have not tried over 32 GB of songs as I don't have that much in MP3. I also don't relish the though of re-ripping all of my CD's.One last mention. The built-in lithium battery is amazing! 2-3 days for my playing needs. FWIW it does charge at 3.1A on my multi USB charger (usb3 to usb3) which displays current draw. I'm using a certified 1.5' USB 3.2 cable if that matters. All in I'm thrilled with this little audio MP3 player. BT and FM which I rarely use work great also. The FM, with no external antenna autotunes fantastic in our rural location. It's a little more expensive than some others but IMHO worth the difference in quality.

Great player, heres some details not in the instructions
This is the great little player/speaker I've been looking for, excellent sound for its small size, very crisp vocals and decent bass at higher volumes, does a good job pulling in FM stations, I am in a town of about 350,000 and it picked up all the major stations with clarity, has nine station presets, a basic EQ (pop/rock/jazz, etc), Bluetooth paired easily with a Surfans digital music player, also has a usb port on back for cabled digital player connection, does not however, pair with Bluetooth headphones, wired headphones worked fine. DC power connection on back. Has a good clear but small LCD screen, control and screen menu buttons aren’t the most user-friendly, a center button with left right up down would have been better, but no big deal, will just be a matter of memorizing the button layout. The main reason I bought this was to play my many custom playlist folders from an SD card, which it does very well, something not mentioned in the advertising or instructions is that it “will” recognize separate folders on an SD card. It mentions that it will accept up to a 32GB SD card, however i have a 256GB card in mine that it accepted just fine and shows all folders and live shows on my card. I also love the large on/off volume knob that turns on and off with a satisfying click. Small gripe about the shuffle mode, it will shuffle songs from all folders not just the one you are in on the menu, so playing in order works best in each folder playlist. I’ve already tried it out at the beach. It fits nicely in an otter type box, which also holds my solar power bank battery to keep it charged. Internal battery lasted about 15 hours on a charge, better than I expected. Would definitely purchase again, love the portability and convenience, will probably be purchasing a few for music loving friends as a present..

Great radio and bluetooth speeker to have at home.
Awesome radio -- simple to find stations by seek, direct-input or memory. No need to keep it plugged in as it works off of a rechargeable battery. Very compact. Sturdy. Great sound-- it's hard to believe so much sound from such a small radio.
