One of the best hand grinders under $200.
Unbeatable price/performance. If you're considering the C2 get this one as it comes with the upgraded E&B burr which would cost you about $40 to retrofit plus it has more capacity. This review largely mirros my review for the C2 with updates for the differences.Pros:• Solidly built• Grind adjustment is all metal• Plenty of adjustment steps• Large capacity (~ 30gm)• Sharp well-cut burrs• "E&B" burr is an upgrade (over the C2 model)• Knurling on housing gives good grip• Comes with storage bag and cleaning brush• Breaks down quick for easily for cleaning• Moving part rides on bearingsCons:• Internal supports are plastic (though they seem really robust)• Grounds get stuck in sharp corner of bottom camber. Would be better with a rounded or chamfered edge down there.• Stepped adjustment• Not as portable as smaller grindersAll in all this is a FANTASTIC grinder even if you don't consider the current price. Even over $100 this would still be a brilliant deal. Easily holds it own with grinders that cost more than twice as much. It's essentially identical to the C2 except it's taller (more capacity) and also has the upgraded E&B center burr.Really solidly built. Feels weighty in the hand, grinds smootly, the knurling gives good grip on the housing and good leverage with the handle.Much bettter than "budget" grinders that are in this price range. They simply don't compare. This punches well above its price point.Summary: You cannont go wrong with this grinder, you just get so much quality and usability for your money. This really is all you need.

Great coffee grinder A+
I did a lot of research about coffee grinders and this seems to fit the bill. Stainless steel burrs, holds a decent amount of coffee beans to grind and easy to use. Did not disappoint works wonders. Even and consistent grinds every time. I got some cheap beans to practice and compare to my old store bought grounds. Can do fine medium and coarse ground anything in between with great results. Now I can enjoy freshly ground coffee everyday and skip the coffee shop. Very easy to use and assemble. Love the grip on the shaft. Glides very smoothly not hard to crank (my 10 year old did it) it's not noisy and a has a pleasant sound. I enjoy the process find it relaxing. Also easy to clean. Take it apart brush away put it back together ez. Highly recommend. Prefect for coffee for one or two.

Great budget grinder
I bought the C2 Max after looking to spend a lot more on a quality mill, but having difficulty finding any in stock that weren't 3x the price. I settled on the C2 as the reviews were fairly good, and I don't mill for espresso. Some appear to have issues with that. For pour over this thing works great with good uniformity and a quick grind. My $30 one this is replacing took forever and constantly lost its grind setting during the mill, leaving a lot of boulders in the result. It was near impossible to dial things in unless going near espresso levels.I'm not a big fan of the lid being attached to the lever, but it shouldn't be a big deal unless one is traveling with it. Even then, a good cleaning or chucking it into a bag should be fine. Compared to my $30 mill, this one is significantly louder, or at least the pitch is higher. Some may not like the grippy texture, but I find it really helpful when powering through my 30g loads. All in all it appears to be well built, has a good weight to it, and does a good job at milling a consistent ground. Sure, it's not a Commandante, but it's also not over $300. If starting out on the hand grinding journey, I'd suggest this over something cheaper made of plastic with ceramic burrs. Yes they are a lower point of entry, but will only dissuade from enjoying milling. This is a good beginner one that will cover the user until they're at the point of stepping up to a much more specialized mill.

First time with a hand grinder, not too bad!
I've been using a Braun electric blade grinder for nearly 20 years to "grind" beans for a drip coffee maker. That grinder has been a champ, but I always wondered why MY coffee never tasted quite as good as that from a cafe, like more bitter and not as "rich." Come to find out from some of my coffee-snob friends that the grinding method is one of the factors that makes a big difference in the resultant brew flavor. After reading about lots of different grinders and NOT wanting to spend over $100 (or several hundred dollars!!!) on a hand grinder, I decided to give this Timemore a shot since the price is decent and the "Max" version can grind more beans. The first brew with grinds from the Timemore had a noticeably improved flavor from anything before, which was a bit on the acidic side. I'm going to have to experiment to see what's best but I'm already happy with the results.Pros: the grind adjustment dial inside is easy to change, and the booklet that came with it gives simple range suggestions for types of brews. The construction feels very solid. The grind appears to be very uniform, no large chunks like I would get with my blade grinder unless I ran it for a long time, which then resulted in too much powdery consistence. Says it can grind for everything from espresso to french press, but we'll have to see how versatile it actually is (I have an espresso machine that I'll have to test with it, but no french press).Cons: it's a hand grinder, so it takes a long time (about a minute for a full 30g of beans). This "Max" version says it holds 30g of beans, and it JUST BARELY does as the lid almost doesn't fit once full, and the hopper is packed full once the grind is done, but it could be the light roast beans I used are less dense and took up more space. So far I'm happy with it considering it's the highest capacity and least expensive of the metal burr grinders with metal construction. Would recommend.

Great entry level grinder
I love my grinder! Easy to dial in the proper grind size. It’s substantial and doesn’t feel cheap despite the affordability. If there’s a better grinder at this price, I would be surprised. Highly recommend!

Perfect Grinder for a Perfect Cup of Coffee
After much research came across this grinder ensuring to get the latest C3 version with ceramic grinding blades and the metal top on the handle (versus old plastic version). My old electric blade grinder just caused the coffee to have a bitter taste and was on a quest to make the perfect at home cup of coffee versus the poor restaurant grades or guchi priced coffee stands. I coupled this with my Airscape Bean canister holder which keeps beans from my local hand milled shop super fresh (due to the release of all air) and my Aeropress single press coffee maker for a perfect cup of coffee. This grinder works perfectly although took a bit to figure out you must have the handle on as per instructions to make the grind selection level on the bottom. Do think this could be improved as it's based on counting clicks versus a visual selection feature. The first cup of coffee was so delicious I slurped it down in seconds versus the usual slow slip. Hubby was highly impressed with the resulting coffee as well, and every day its great to look forward to a great cup of coffee. Also grinds espresso beans great for a perfect latte. The unit is a very well made heavy duty piece and although thought it pricey for a hand grinder (waited for a sale), it will easily pay for itself without having to buy a coffee every day. Bonus is I can make a great cup of coffee on my RV travels as well. My only recommendation to the manufacturers would be to create a stand much like the ones you attach to a small propane cannister as this would allow you to better support the unit on the counter as you grind your beans. Found this the better way as you need to hold the unit upright for even distribution/grinding. Would highly recommend this unit which works simply and portably to achieve a fantastic cup of coffee. Am convinced that a burr grinder outperforms the other as every cup the bean flavour is perfectly smooth to the last drop. Great invention indeed.

Glad I went with the Max
Good product, glad I went with the larger size because my sister loves the smell of fresh coffee so now I have to grind enough for 2. Easy to turn, but might be hard to hold for those with small hands. Fortunately it’s such a good grinder that you don’t need to grind for more than a minute so no problem. It comes with a handy brush for cleaning, but I’ve found a wonderful use for it. To prevent static I run the brush under the tap for a second or two and then just flick a bit of water once or twice into the top of the grinder after I’ve loaded the beans. The grounds come out like a dream and they aren’t wet either! It’s way better then fishing around with my little brush after trying to get all the little bits of grounds to come down.Overall, good product and I’m very happy with my purchase.
