Super awesome
I will lead with my singular biggest gripe: fret sprout. A manageable issue, just unfortunate. What follows is mostly praise or neutral commentary.Played, sounded, and felt fine, quite a few online reviewers say the neck is large, chunky and this is true. Saddles were at all kinds of angles but that's a pretty minor thing, easy to adjust.I'm a beginner that travels a lot and carrying around a normal guitar wasn't happening, so I bought this beauty. Taking it apart and putting it back together is easy and pretty intuitive, and the backpack it came with is pretty awesome. Can pack it away alongside a gaming laptop, microphone, headphones, a 3-pound bag of protein powder, first aid kit, and a change of clothes. Very spacious.Plays fine as far as I can tell. Quite a few online reviewers say the neck is large, chunky and this is true. Saddles were at all kinds of angles but that's a pretty minor thing, easy to adjust. String height/action out of the box is on the higher end, over 2mm. Some folks may want to lower it. A little less than $500 with the JENC - 10 bundle I'd say this was an incredible value buy for me. There's no other electric guitar at this price point that can fulfill this niche for less than a grand. Felt like it was made for me.

Lackluster Quality Control for such an Expensive Product
The media could not be loaded. I always record my unboxings in case something unwanted shows up, like in this case.It came well packed and the product itself is beautiful and the concept very practical. For the price, the build quality is very raw and missing the last layers of product polishing and proper quality control before sending it to the customers. The first flaw, as shown in the unboxing video, is that it arrived with a dent at the place where the latch attaches to the neck, as pointed out in the second picture surrounded by the red circle. The second and worse defect, is that the frets were not properly finished, as other online reviewers have mentioned, they are sharp, and not only they can catch a string, but they sure can scratch and even cut the player's fingers or hand, which makes it almost unplayable upon arrival and defeats any ease of use until properly treated, as it requires further maintenance to be properly finished. After spending $500 on this, it is unfair that we also need to spend an additional $200 with is around what a Guitar Center charges to get its frets repaired, it should arrive ready to be played without any issue. It's difficult to show, but the other two pictures show how the frets are not properly leveled, crowned, polished or dressed.

A bit of a mixed bag
This is a very interesting idea. And they came close. I think it needs better quality control. Outside of that, this style won’t be for everyone but the nature of the design requires it.First thing to note is that the Guitar is quite beautiful. It sounds good much to my surprise and all of the electronics are very smoothly functioning. I was going to expect a little bit of a more rustic appearance so to say. It’s very compact and you’ll be surprised at how easy it is to travel with this thing. The neck is quite thick so you’re going to have issues if you have a small hands or if you just really like a thinner neck with a smaller radius. I don’t mind because my style of playing doesn’t really depend on that. There was a few nicks and bruises on the Guitar which shows maybe lack of quality control because I don’t think it happened in transit. This thing was well protected in the packaging. My biggest issue is the Fritz, which are very rough. It’s like they forgot to do a finishing job on mine. I have some basic luthier skills so I’m able to go down and work with it, but for the price of this thing you would figure they would ship with a perfect fretboard and it does not.The action is a bit higher than I would like to be. I suppose that is also a function of the design. I think you would have to adjust the curve of the neck to change the action significantly as the bridge doesn’t really allow for adjustments. All in all it’s a decent looking guitar and it does this one little trick that will shock and amaze people so it’s gonna be up to personal taste. Still a very cool idea that they can improve upon going forward. You might wanna wait for the next iteration.
