What a fun project challenge that I am glad I undertook. ***This is not an installation for those who are not mechanically inclined*** However, I have done major renovations on several of my residences over the years and had the cahones to take the leap into what I previously considered to be a magical realm.You will need a vaccum pump, R410A adapter, pressure gauge rig (comes with pump), and I really advise a torque wrench with adjustable wrench head (unless you're sure you have the flare nut sockets needed for the lineset diameters of your system). Overall, ~$170 for these if you don't have them already (pricing as of ~Dec'24) I also got Nylog Blue... not sure if I needed it, but it didn't hurt.I did a relatively unconventional installation in that I routed a 25' lineset from the left side of the unit, flush with the wall. My condensate line was also run on a slightly sloped horizontal run indoors, then diverted outside. (I installed this in a finished portion of the basement that allowed me to run the lines through a wall and along an unfinished interior wall of an adjacent area).Caution: if you are using a wall-mount bracket for the outside unit, know that, even with thick rubber vibration damping feet, the compressore section will telegraph a low intensity hum/vibration through the wall studs to the interior space. this is interesting, since there is extremely quiet operation of the unit outdoors otherwise. in my case, the hum was in the unfinished space, thus not relevant. if you will install against a wall in a finished space, I recommend a ground slab mount (on a raised mount if you're in snowfall country).I haven't gotten the app/wifi function running yet, but the hand remote is great. The unit takes a minute or two to fire up and equilibrate, so don't expect it to turn on a dime when you switch modes or temperatures. but, it runs essentially as quietly as the Mitsusbishi units that I had professionally installed at one of my former homes.Wishes: there does not appear to be a setting in which the fan periodically circulates air to mix the air in the room and keep it uniformly conditioned. Since I have high ceilings, and I needed to mount this at about 8 feet up, the air is stratified and is at a different temperature up higher than the rest of the room at 'living' levels (~3-6 feet up). There is a fan-only setting, but this is not in heat or cool mode.I found customer support through the chat remarkably responsive and effective. There is no other way to get in touch with the company. But, rest assured, THEY ARE THERE and respond within a minute or two. All questions were answered quickly and effectively. Where I found an error in the manual that led me to order the wrong diameter lineset, they quickly refunded me so I could buy the right one. (on this note, it would be more convenient and less wasteful to allow the customer to pick the right lineset length when ordering. in the end, I was left with the original 16 foot lineset that came with the unit. (note: the unit comes pre-charged wth enough refrigerant for a 25 foot lineset!)I should also note that there was a small dent in the outdoor unit base due to shipping damage. Look like a forklift might have pierced the box. It was cosmetic only and didn't impact the function of the unit. And, it turned out that my installation location has it largely hidden from plain sight.So, now it's up to seeing how durable the unit is. Otherwise, I would TOTALLY buy another of these when I come across another project like this.

I bought two of these units and installed them myself. I followed the instructions and took my time. Everything came together neatly and my wife says it looks like a professional installation. It cools the room nicely. Our bedroom gets warmer than the rest of the house and this really helps at night. I'm hoping it will hold up to the summer heat in Phoenix but only time will tell. So far I'm extremely satisfied with this product and if it only works for even 5 years it would be worth it to me. Hopefully it will last longer. It's pretty quiet. I mounted the outside unit on the wall and you can hear it a little when you turn down the temperature and it has to really start working but generally I don't hear anything. When I turn the unit off, I'll hear some noises like rattling in the wall but that came after I used spray foam insulation to fill the hole inside the wall. I was quoted almost 10k dollars to install 2 of these and a bigger one for the living room. I didn't install a bigger one in my living room but installed 2 of these in bedrooms and it was asking 2k including the electrical, wall mount, line set cover, hole saw, vacuum pump, and all the other necessary tools and stuff that I didn't have. I would definitely recommend this. It even works with my Google home app and I can change the temperature by asking Google which is a nice touch.

This is a really great unit for the price and even though it was a first time install for me, it was within my skills with a little research, youtube, etc. A couple pieces of advice. If you watch some youtube videos installing this and other mini splits, you will see people bundling and wrapping all the lines and control cable before feeding through the wall to the outside. this turns out to NOT be ideal. the unit comes with the copper coolant lines folded across the back, and if you are facing the front of the unit, this is from Right to Left. The drain is also pre-attached R to L as well. The instructions show you can exit the tubing either out the R, L or straight out the back. Here is the advice. If you exit them from the left of the unit, as they are pre-folded or directed, you end up making the connections on the back of the unit on the inside wall. It also means you have to either connect the lines before you hang the unit and bundle all the lines and then feed to the outside, or make the connections behind the unit while it is hanging. This is quite difficult. If there is any way possible, it is best to take the lines and re-orient them directly out the back, or exiting straight out the back on the R side where they originate. this allows you to make the connections on the outside wall and have easy access to them should there be an issue. After I had installed my unit the hard way, I found a video where this was the method and it would have been 1000x easier. Additionally, after installing my unit, I thought I had a leak and was forced to try to resolve it behind the unit while it was hanging which was beyond challenging.Second piece of advice, which is more of a factor of probably not having much experience is torqueing the copper coolant lines. The manual gives specs for how tight the connections should be and I had a torque wrench with crows foot attachments. this did not work and both of my coolant line connection were over tightened and damaged on the initial connection. The supplied copper lines are adequate, but on the thin side. It was very unfortunate as the factory flares were very clean and nice. But, once I crushed them by overtightening the connections, I did have to reflare them. I would recommend having a flaring tool or ordering one incase this happens. it did take me a couple tries, but I was able to create some acceptable flares that a where leak free.Since installing I have used fan, cool, dehumidify, and turbo, all of which have worked well. This unit is in a building adjacent to our home and we don't use it every day or constantly cool or heat it, but this unit has maintained cooling at 68-72 on 100 plus degree days for 1-2 days at a time with ease. I highly recommend it.
