Who Was Rosa Parks?

I am the mother of four adopted African children and always looking for good role models for them. Since it is hard to find books for children in Spanish about black people that have done great things I buy them in UK. This is a great collection of books with some black people that have an impressive life full of courage and hard work. Far from the mostly bad role model presented on TV shows. It gives my children a great push to be who they want to be. There are a lot of books in Spanish abut adoption, children's stories about multiculturalism, etc... But I just wanted biographies of real black heroes! This one in particular is perfect since it is about a black woman! It is even harder to find good role models for girls nowadays regardless their ethnic group, TV is getting more and more degrading towards women.

Interesting book, well written

Now this book is an inspiration to me, because Rosa changed the course of history, everytime I get on a bus I remember what she did. I dont have to get up when a white person gets on the bus and I can sit anywhere that i want.. Also its a role model for the young black youth today to show them that they can achieve anything with a little encouragement. America has Barack Obama who is the president of the USA. imagine a BLACK MAN as president, this is history in its making. And I think its one of the best books I have read for along time.

Me and my child thoroughly enjoyed this book. Easy to read. Brilliantly written for younger ones. I would definitely recommend this book.

This is a fascinating insight into how one person can make a lot of changes if some in the right way. Ross Parks stood up for her rights and as such changed a lot of laws regarding civil rights.

It's a very well written story, and give us overall story about Rosa's life and achievements, do I wish it was more details - yes, do I wish it was longer - yes, but it's because it's very nice to read. Kids enjoyed and I do not regret buying it

Great for introducing those persons that really changed the way of life for all those suppressed by white domination.Highly recommend as black children should know about the people who made it possible to live a free from slavely life.

Got this for my 7 year old daughter to learn about history as well as practice her reading skills. She is very into this book and will sit for an hour or so at a time and read it. This is the first book she's really liked to read by herself of her own free will. I definitely recommend it for other similar aged kids. Very educational and a great conversation beginner on a harder topic.

A great synopsis of her life for a grade schooler.

This is a really nice collection. It is nice for kids to read and they are very instructive and interesting. We will get more of them in the future.
