Amazing book, I read it in two days, and did nothing but read. I loved it, kept me on the edge of my seat, one of her best yet. Now to read the latest one!

‘The Bone Hacker’ is full of twists and turns and captivated me with its forensic knowledge! This is the 22nd outing for Tempe but it can easily be read as a standalone. Any background information is given by the author and the location of the Turks and Caicos means the narrative is quite separate from the rest of the series. Now I love this series and also the TV adaptation but they are very different. I even fangirled recently when Hart Hanson replied to one of my tweets!Tempe is called in to examine some remains which have been found in the islands of Turks and Caicos. The local police believe that someone has been targeting young attractive tourists and two sets of remains have been found. Tempe flies over and as soon as she arrives a boat is found with five sets and remains and is asked for her help. Are these deaths related to the missing tourists at all? What follows is a complex plots with many twists and turns! I could maybe have done without the final twist as I think the serial killer plot was enough in all honesty. It was very enjoyable to see how everything fitted together though! I devoured in a few sittings in one day found it to be compelling. Plus I love all the forensic details, you know you are learning as you are reading when you spend time googling the subject matter!Let me know if you pick this one up!

Reichs still has it
This is a return to form, with the same engaging prose and straight-forward characterizations that made good, quick, uncomplicated beach reads for decades. Spending time inside Brennan’s problem-solving is something I appreciate even more now that the real world is such a mess! A four-plus bumped to five.

Another Gripping Mystery With Old Bones and New Bones
Book 22 of 22 is still as fresh and interesting as the first book in this exciting series. Kathy Reichs has done it again. This time she is asked by the Lead Detective to come to The Turk and Caicos to investigate some cases that might tie into the body she just found in the Montreal river. Off she goes, leaving Ryan and Birdie in their new condo. The problem with these books is once I start reading, I can’t stop until I finish. So, I finished just in time for dinner. This one is unusual in that there are current murders taking place that may tie in but it’s not clear how. Her intention of flying south and sorting out the bones and going home doesn’t turn out the way she planned. Events overtake her plan and she spends a week working with the local police to solve tourist murders from seven years earlier up to the murder two days ago. It is a fascinating story about how much a forensic anthroplogist (Brennan) can figure out just from bones. It is a great series and looks like it might go on forever. The TV show ‘Bones’ based on these books may have ended but the source material is still available.
