These are dimensionally the same as the original parts, and the chrome finish of the nuts is hard to tell apart from originals. The real test would be to put some mileage on these, so I’ll update this review if anything notable happens once these get good use. For now, these are spares that, unfortunately, I found myself in need of way too often: most times repair shops delegate the simplest task of putting back a wheel to the least qualified person. And invariably that person uses either an air tool or high powered electric tool and only luck may save the wheel lugs from thread stripping. The “best” I experienced has been three lugs out of five stripped on a single wheel taken off. Then, when I try taking the wheels off and the thread is gone for good, making the trip back to the shop may be a risky option. Other times, I did get back to the shop just for the run-around they gave me: that those very precious lugs are impossible to get this week, maybe even the next, all special order. Guaranteed, every single time they strip lugs and I get back they tell me it’s not them that stripped the thread, it is me taking the nut off – one of the repair shops classic lines, as you probably already know. So, being able to replace these wheel lugs is a must-have skill for anyone that may ever take a wheel off their car on their own. And having a few spares handy saves a ton of time and frustration, every time.
