The scratching tools are too sharp for several of the scratch art paper items I have used we it scratches away the foil leaving only the damaged cardboard behind. Also the case is not very easy to close and secure meaning the items often Fall out

I was quite excited to try what I was expecting to be a ‘posh’ set of tools for doing scratch art.Having used them a few times, they haven’t lived up to my expectations.The felt case is quite nice and keeps everything neatly together.I expected the pens to cover a variety of different tips (different sizes etc) so you could choose different pens to create different effects. However, they appear to all be the same.The brush is fine.It’s an ok set but I think the idea of having a nice set of tools is better than the reality of the contents of the set. And, while they are certainly useable, I actually find the standard scratching tool designs easier and more effective to use than these fountain pen style tools. So, I don’t think I’m going to use these much going forwards - I’ll stick to the simple plastic tools.

Honestly I had high hopes for this set of scratching pens which on the hole does scratch the surface of the scratch paper however it's difficult to achieve consistent results, unlike the pointy pens/pencils or sticks. The case is felt with a leather strap which feels as though it should be a case for craft knifes not essentially what is a fountain pen with lids. You get 5 pens which are all the same size and shape ??? no variety whatsoever and offers very little if anything to the scratch painters arsenal.For the best results stick to the pointy pens for scratching they will last a lot longer too.The company Artsper who made and sales this, is also selling a fantastic Van Gogh scratching set which comes with a pointy scratcher (thankfully) it costs ever so slightly more in price but would be well worth the investment.
