Didnt know that it opened differently than a normal backpack - there’s a wire on either side of the zipper so when you open it, it opens wide and nice in a rectangle so you can see everything in it very easy! I actually love that it does it, but it does make it so you can’t really crack it open to get something, you need to open it all the way unless you have small hands/arms. Doesn’t affect the comfort of wearing it at all.A lot of different pockets which I find super helpful. Inside the main part: 1 large pocket (laptop size) against your back with 2 mesh pockets on the outside of that pocket, a zipper pocket on one side of the bag, another open pocket on the opposite side (fits a portable charger great), and a bigger zipper pocket at the front side. So pockets on every side of the main compartment! From the outside you can put your water bottle on either side of the bag, and the extra compartment/zipper pocket part on the front of the bag is pretty spacious! There’s also a small zipper pocket on the backside of the bag that goes against your back, great spot for valuables if you’re concerned about that! I keep a thin wallet and my keys in there and it’s still comfortable.If you have all the side pockets decently full on the inside portion it is a bit difficult to put a water bottle in, but with so many pocket options you should likely be fine.Quality is good, the canvas material is thick and sturdy! After about 3 months of daily use i haven’t had any rips, tears, or zippers break. Comes with me back and forth to work everyday and is working great.Very comfortable, easy to walk around with! The straps are padded, but some might find them a bit short. There’s plenty of the extension part that the straps can lengthen a lot, but if your tall and want to wear it low on your back you might find the cushioned part of the straps to be a bit too high. I’m 5’10” and have the bottom sit maybe 3” above my waist and the straps are still comfortable there, could go lower but I keep the bag too heavy :)For reference, this is a general idea of what I have in it typically:- 40 oz hydroflask- 2 portable chargers, cords, etc- lunch bag (2 ice packs, yogurt, Tupperware container, 12oz and a 16oz can, granola bars)- multi-pack of tissues- 3-4 handfuls of smaller miscellaneous itemsAdditional thoughts:Since the canvas is a very thick and sturdy material, there may be a chance that if you’re wearing a sleeveless shirt that the edges might cause some irritation if your walking a lot and it touches your arms or armpits. I haven’t tried it out but it may be something to think about. Could always put some type of sleeve over it though because it seems likely to happen with most backpacks if you are walking a lot (hiking, vacation, etc.)For travel if your worried about pick pockets: you likely won’t feel someone open the external back zipper pocket (same with any other bag honestly), but unlike a typical opening back pack, I’d bet you’re extremely likely to notice if they try and open the main compartment. Due to the nature of how it closes and opens firmly, someone would have a difficult time smoothly sticking their hand in and taking something without you feeling it, not to mention the little snap loop on the handles to keep it closed.

Loved mine so much that I have since ordered 5 more for family members. Wanted something to take on the airplane. Love how wide the main compartment opening is, when unzipped -makes it very easy to find things. The laptop compartment is nice for my tablet when travelling. I felt like a very organized traveler, for a change. USB charger came in handy during my 7 hour flight delay. Beware: Not all colors/designs have the internal laptop compartment so make sure you look closely at the pictures.
