Practice Makes Perfect: Complete Italian All-in-One, Premium Second Edition

I got the app Babbel early this year thinking it would be great to learn Italian with all the good reviews it had. Let me tell you, this exceeds it by far. I have learned more on this first day with this book then several weeks with Babbel. This book has sections that actually make sense and you learn much better with the exercises after each section. The app that comes with is great to learn the pronunciation and learning on the go. If I ever want to learn another language after this, these books are where it’s at.

I’ve been using the Coffee Break Italian app for almost 2 years now and it’s been great on my commute to work but this book is an awesome companion to any app. I love the app that you can download so you can record yourself and hear the dialogues that are in the book. The QR code is in the back of the book to download either the app or the website. Loaded with exercises to write what you’ve just learned. Perfect for those who want to read and write Italian. Includes a glossary which is great for reference. This book is a gem.

I have this company's Grammar Drills in Italian as well. There is some duplication with this book but I like the clear and concise explanations in this All-in-One book since I am essentially teaching myself the grammar with a LanguaTalk tutor for oral practice. (I have studied other languages and the Spanish and French I have taken previously make teaching myself possible.) I tried to download the App that is mentioned in the book but at least for Android, it does not seem to be available. One can use the link to access the online additional material via a web browser but it would have been nice to have a functioning app especially if it allowed you to practice when off-line as well.

I highly recommend this book for learnes, like myself, with some experience studying Italian. I used beginner books to get myself started. But along the way, I became considerably confused on important grammar points. This book drills down on verb tenses and different parts of speech. It has brought clarity to tricky areas, for example the different ways to express "some," "several," and "a few." It contains a generous number of practice questions for each concept and I feel that I am making good progress.

There is a lot of grammar covered and I feel that this book has helped me with some of the basics of grammar (I speak Spanish so some grammar things are similar). The book has some errors, for example, places where an exercise to address a specific topic shows up before the topic is covered. I tried to access the online content, I am able to listen to audios (monotone, boring) but it looks like there used to be other content that is no longer available. I don't really use the online stuff. I still give it 4 stars because I didn't buy the book for the online content. Truly, I prefer to study with Youtube videos, the Coffee Break Italian podcast, or speaking with Italians when given the opportunity, but in moments when the house is quiet, this book is useful for getting familiar with the basics of Italian grammar.

Ciao! I really enjoy this book. Lots of exercises to practice in your free time. I went to Italy to study Italian for 2 months and now use it to review (and learn new areas of the language).

I found this to be better than any of the apps where you have to listen. I guess I’m a visual learner and writing as I am reading really makes things stick for me. I’ve tried several apps and I am doing much better with this however, I do use a app for speaking to be sure that I am getting the Pronunciation correct with the book. Additionally, I learned that for instance if you want to live in Italy and you’d like to drive a car , Their test is a written test with 100 questions provided ,so not only do you need to be able to read it you also have to be able to write in Italian. I feel this book is the most helpful way to learn this language.

This book is not for beginners, as I had hoped. It also asks for rote memorization with barely any explanation or examples. Not for me.

This is the best book you can learn from those Italian language but you need something else to go with it like your audio books. The text materials are excellent but they need to have a lot of examples but we need to do other things to supplement our learning. Again strongly recommend this for the learners as they have got all of the materials you need, don’t buy other books, just buy this book. Extremely strongly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in learning Italian and it will save you a lot of money.

This book made me go from 0 to almost fluent in less than 6 month with the addition of italian netflix watching and speaking practice! Very nice methods.
