I love it. It looks great. It's a good size and with sand in the bottom, it's not moving in the wind.

I purchased two of these for use at our community clubhouse. I've placed one at the front door so we can eliminate the unsightly cigarette butts at the entrance, and I've placed the other on our deck that overlooks the pool. During the Fall, Winter, and Spring, I've found that users of the clubhouse tend to pitch their cigarettes over the edge of the deck, and in some cases they've landed on our custom pool cover, burning holes in and weakening the cover. During the Summer months, cigarette butts that get into the pool can cause serious issues with our filter. Hopefully these containers will provide an option to reduce those problems. Per Justrite's suggestion, I've added sand to the pail and to the bottom of the container to help weight it down. So far we've experienced several thunderstorms and they've remained stable. Time will tell, but I think this is the perfect solution to our problem. I'm thinking of obtaining a few more of the "personal" sized containers for use on the pool deck as well.

Be warned that this is jumbo sized! We felt that the smaller, personal sized butt bins were too short. I knew that family members would do the stooping to drop their butts in the shorter one, but I had real doubts that they'd use it to tap their ashes (and I didn't want those floating on my deck). This model (26800) has the 1 1/2" diameter drop hole at approx 37" high -- good size/height for tapping ash. Will also easily fit fat cigar butts. There's an approx 3 gallon galvanized bin inside the base, but it's quite a bit smaller in diameter than the outside housing. Only time will tell if butts get in between the metal bucket and the base. Hope a hot cigarette doesn't damage the plastic. I may try to find a bucket that fits a little better. There are also 2 molded tie down brackets on the bottom to secure it from wind. We got a great price from Amazon Warehouse Deals -- less than half price. It appeared to be in a new condition.

This works very well outside of a tavern. It’d be better if it had someway of keeping people from snubbing out their butts on the top of it. I’ve also purchased different steel buckets for in the bottom of it.
