GUAIFENESIN HELPS RELIEVE THE PAIN OF FIBROMYALGIA when taken daily every month. 10 years ago the company that had the patent and sold it as a prescription drug, released the patent around 2010. What was once free through my insurance now costs approx $24+ and the bandits who market it nastily give you only 28 caps!

Be aware that these are large tablets and they are NOT enteric coated. I have never had problems swallowing any sort of medication or vitamins, even large ones, but the first couple of these stuck on my tongue and I really had a difficult time getting them down. I did learn that you’re supposed to keep your head slightly pointing downward so that the pill floats up in the liquid in your mouth, rather than tilt your head back, so that has helped me a lot. Other than that, they are pure Guaifenesin, so no complaints there.

I used to be on the prescription version of this medicine before Mucinex came out with the OTC version. I’ve been waiting for some time for a generic version of the timed release tablets. This fits the bill and is a great price!

This works great on stubborn chronic coughs and unclogging plugged airways. I've experienced no side effects. The kind that comes in the green boxes makes me drowsy if take it 3 times a day because of the Dextromethorphan.. I take it twice a day to alleviate that and take this once a day to prevent drowsiness. It's a winning combination and I've tried all kinds of things for cough that failed.

I have been using long acting guaifenisen for many years for fibromyalgia. I have no reason to think there have been differences in quality (except for Mucinex because it isn’t pure long acting). I like this brand because the packaging is not a challenge for my arthritic hands. Wish I could find it (1200 mg) in bottles instead of the push-each-tablet-out packaging.
