MAX MPH STORM II Textile Cordura Motorcycle, Scooter Jacket & Jeans / Trousers Set - armour & waterproof - XX-LARGE

I wrote a review for this item when I bought it but for some reason it wasn't published. I'm writing another now so that potential buyers are aware of the outfit's one problem... it doesn't always keep you dry!I've had my set for about 3-4 months now and am still as pleased with it as I was when I first bought it. It's comfortable & lightweight, there's plenty of movement in it, yet it still gives adequate padding in all the important places.In hot, dry weather you'll find this gear can make you sweat quite a lot and without the thermal liner this tends to make the outfit stick to your skin & become clammy. This can be annoying on short trips and I would imagine quite uncomfortable on longer ones.In the rain the jeans perform well. As with any water resistant fabrics though, they do have a saturation point, at which you will feel like you've been thrown into a bath tub full of water! The only area that tends to allow water in is the leg-ends, though it has to be said, my boots are not proper bike boots. A decent set of them would probably fix this. The jacket on the other hand is somewhat less predictable. A few days ago I rode for about an hour (70-80 miles or so) along the motorway in moderate rain & high wind and the jacket did not leak. The cuffs got wet and some water found its way down my neck but that was it. Today I rode only 7 miles out & back to the nearest town in heavier rain & light wind and found I was soaked through to my t-shirt by the time I got back. This has happened twice and for the life of me I cannot figure out why!For comfortable, lightweight, good-looking, practical & protective bike clothing, nothing beats this at the price. If like me, however, you're a serious all-weather rider or your only transport is a bike then you might do well to spend some major money and go for military or pro marine equipment, or even a more agricultural option like polyester overs. Military gear will keep you warm and offers adequate impact protection but it requires periodic treatment to retain its waterproof qualities. Marine gear will keep you dryer than anything else but lacks impact protection and is seriously expensive. Agricultural wear is dirt cheap and will keep you bone dry but offers no impact protection or thermal retention.Max-MPH gear is a good, practical combination of all three with the addition of purpose built impact protection and variable thermal retention.I am still very pleased with this gear and believe it was an excellent purchase. I would recommend it to anyone, as I would the service from Max-Mph, which was second to none. My only cautionary to potential buyers would be the water resistant properties of the jacket.

Bought the jacket and pants in 2011. Friendly service, and the fit and size were fine. Got soaking wet the first shower I rode through. Proofed the clothing myself with a spray. But this made it non-breathable, so sweated like crazy when the sun was out. Only used the jacket and pants about 3- 4 times and then left them in the cellar after buying a decent set from Hein Gericke. You get what you pay for.

More than pleased with this product and the company I delt with. Helpful very accomodating, even when I had to exchange the gloves for a larger pair, extremly good clothing have been caught in the rain, some quite heavy. Dry as a bone, just need to get some boots that don't leak now. I have since been knocked off twice, each time the suit has performed perfectly, no rips and the armour did it's job. Walked away on both occasions, with a few knocks and bruises. The suit looks as good as ever. Although I don't recommend going down the road, I was well protected.

I waited a few months to submit this review and can report that whilst I really like the set, great armour and nice looking there are some downsides. The stitching is poor and the quality of the zips is incredibly poor.

Well made suit for use on my scooter. Keeps the cold out that's for sure. I would recommend the use of over cuff gloves to prevent any water getting in between your gloves and wrist. Not too bulky either but tons of protection. I am a 34 chest with 28 trouser and this fitted me great.Hopefully I won't need the protection but I know its there.

Amazing price for such a good quality product. I was not disappointed in the slightest. Really warm, the winters kicking in, and I'm having no problem riding in the bitter cold with the thermals on. This suit gives you a comforting feeling of warmth and safety. Plenty of pockets for little bits. Greatly reccomended.

Wore this suit on a ride in France through a cloud burst and then persistant heavy rain and arrive at destination still dry. What more can you ask.
