Lots or recycled generally well known 'military' anecdotes interspersed with some individual very personal war experiences and squaddie humour. I can certainly see what the John has set out to achieve, and it has worked if only to appeal to a limited audience. It was really sad though to read about him having to sell his medals. The unselfish support for charity is commendable.

it is funny and thought provoking and will make you feel grateful ...
I urge you not to think twice about purchasing this book for yourself; family and friends.....spread the word! It gives the inside story from those that were there..... Those that have “been there, seen it and done it”.....it is funny and thought provoking and will make you feel grateful that these people were and are still around to help keep us safe!.....Remember all the proceeds go to charity as well!

The lighter face of Army service
Superb humour set in a military context. This should be the handbook for all recruit training.
