Great for people and dogs
Works great, and use this or Neosporin. Not only great for humans, but great for dogs that may lick or queue that have not become excessive. As my dogs vet related to me, once you rub it in basically the residual that’s leftover is almost the same as Vaseline and won’t harm my dog if she licks.

This is the only product we use and it is hands down the best answer to cuts and nicks we gardeners suffer from doing our chores.

Easy
I've always used Neosporin but my doctors now recommend not to use it. They said Polysporin (or even vaseline) is better.

Works well, and apparently better for you than Neosporin
So here's an interesting tidbit: after googling around, the main difference between this (Polysporin) and Neosporin, is that Polysporin has only two active ingredients while Neosporin has three. You might think that this means Neosporin is better, right? Well apparently the third ingredient which is present only in Neosporin (neomycin) has a higher incidence of allergic reactions on the skin, and can even cause one to develop an allergy to it after "prolonged exposure", even if you didn't have such an allergy in the past. These risks are apparently not as much of an issue with the other two active ingredients that Polysporin uses (polymixin and bacitracin). I suppose this may be why the label says it's the "#1 Dermatologist recommended" brand.
