Are these correct for a 2003 silverado 1500 z71 ext cab 6.5' bed alum. driveline? need both for front & rear.

Based on the application given of a 2003 (Chevy) Silverado 1500 z71, Ext Cab, 6.5' bed with an Aluminum Driveshaft, the 5-793x will only fit at the Rear Axle, it will not fit at the Transmission. The correct Dana/Spicer U-Joint for an Aluminum Driveshaft that would fit at the Transmission for this application would be part number 5-3614x.

Question 2

Will this sit in the rear yoke straps tight? I think i ordered wrong u joint the straps will not tighten on caps. Does the inside clamp act as a shim

A Dana/Spicer u-joint Strap kit when installed the strap does not "clamp" down around the entire top half of the u-joint cap. When a Dana/Spicer strap kit is installed the strap when looking from a side view will clamp down on the u-joint cap at about the 10-o'clock and 2- o'clock positions, to where if you look at the top of the u-joint cap from a side view there will be a slight gap between the top of the u-joint cap and strap.

Will it fit a '99 (nbs) silverado ext cab short bed with a 9.5" differential (at the differential?)

Is this supposed to fit a 2wd 2002 Sierra? I got a yes before buying and now after getting the old u joint out, the new one sits loose
