no they did not on my pool i blocked the outlet with a sponge and the inlet wife held tupperware bowl over it i was dissapointed i thought they would just screw on but i ended up useing 11/4 INCH ball valves from home depot and 11/4 pvc pipe and a rubber couplings FROM PIPE TO POOL from there you can hard pipe or use these fittings with the intex 1/12 hoses --- i think this is bull they want you to buy the 60 dollar kit with everything included why sell the adapters i dont get it hope this helps i might add my pool did not come with the plunger valves

Q: The black nipples with no thread on them that stick out of the side of the pool, these just sort of slide on the nipple and sort of compress?

the inside of the adapter will fit slide over a 1 inch to 1/1/8 diameter threadless pool fitting they then will tighten down by compression by tightening the nut

Q: I have the 18 X 48 metal frame pool and It came with a 1500 gph pump so it doesn't sound like I need these adapters. Does anyone know?

You may not need these. I say "may" because it seems there are many varieties of pools and filters out there. I have a 16' x 48" Bestway PowerSteel pool that came with a 1500gph cartridge pump that I immediately replaced with an Intex 2150GPH salt water pump system using a sand filter. As it turns out, I did not need these adapters because the Bestway pool comes with a 1.25" to 1.5" T-adapter on the dirty water side to connect the two 1.25" pool outputs to the 1.5" pump input, and the the Bestway pool has a 1.5" pool input (clean water) port which matches with the 1.5" output port on the Intex salt water system. The same is true if you have a Bestway 1500gph cartridge filter pump. I think where you may need these is when you're upgrading from a smaller pump than the 1500gph one since I think the smaller pumps may use all 1.25" fittings.

Q: Can anyone tell me why these are $27.00 a pair? Almost ordered, got them from Intex for $7.00 a pair.

The parts direct from Intex are $5.63 each and shipping is extra but in my case would have $7 which makes it pretty much a wash and with Amazon's customer service I will go with Amazon.

Does what is it should.

I did buy these and it has taken some time to receive them, mainly because they come from the US and the because the first set went missing ion the post. I have them now and they have done exactly what I needed them to do, allow me to connect my new more powerful filter pump to my Intex pool. The adapters are authentic and good quality. I have added a 5 start overall rating as the company Select Elite made an effort to contact me and arrange for another set of adapters to be sent out.
