Good in Emergencies, That's All
Even in a stuff sack this poncho took up a lot of space. It's a good fit as emergency rain wear if you have a bug out bag in your car trunk but beyond that its far too inconvenient for backpacking where every ounce and space counts.Performance of the poncho was very good. It did its job and the rigidity of the fabric helped keep me dry when standing still or limited movement. When I began to ascend a trail that's when I experienced slight annoyances where the poncho would create creases that would create rivers of water that fell into my gear. This was my fault but it is something to consider if you're thinking about buying this.As for the durability; no. It's reusable at best. The fabric is good for what it does but no way will it survive multiple rough excursions.Get it as a emergency poncho if you have the space but don't get this if you plan on having a poncho you consistently carry in a pack.

Works, thick, questionable pocket
This poncho works, but it's not something I actually want to wear in the rain. It's constructed well and it does keep water off, but the material is thicker and stiffer than any other poncho I've used. It doesn't want to drape down over your shoulders when you put it on, it wants to stay a rectangle. You can get it to sit more naturally with some coaxing. If you cinch down and tie up the hood it could certainly make a good tarp for a single person, it has grommets and it's clearly meant for that use. I think of it more as a tarp you can wear in a pinch rather than a poncho you could use as a tarp.It has a big flap pocket on the outside, which I don't find to be that useful. Any time you access it, it's going to take on water, and it has no drain hole. It also has no velcro to keep the flap shut, so the flap can accidentally get tucked into the pocket and let water in. I wish they had put the pocket on the inside instead, that would make more sense to me.Overall it works but I don't think it's ideal.

They're not kidding
This poncho is h-e-a-v-y duty. I can just imagine a washout weekend at scout camp or getting the call to do a tire change in a downpour. This is the ticket for those not afraid of the elements but who rather not get totally soaked. The bottom of your pants and boots may get drenched but what can you do... I like that it is reusable and durable as I hate the disposable ones. They feel like I am wearing a flimsy thin garbage bag. It is pricy, a little bulky and not intended for convenience. If you're preparing for possible Florida rain during a Disney trip then look elsewhere; this poncho is looking for adventure. Let it dry before packing away and you'll get years of use out of it. They included a paracord key clip. The description said that there would be a whistle included but it was not in the box.

Super durable - this is a tarp poncho
This poncho is a wearable tarp! The material is the same as you would find on a lightweight tarp. It is completely waterproof and fairly durable. This is definitely not a cheap plastic poncho. This Poncho is made to be used over and over and over again. The Poncho itself rolls up easily and comes with a drawstring carrying bag with a cord lock. It also comes with a bonus paracord bracelet. The poncho has grommets at the bottom four corners so that it can also be used as a ground tarp or can be tied up as a shelter. The sides each have two sets of plastic snaps to keep the sides closed under the arms. The hood has a drawstring closure. The neck opening has a Velcro patch to help keep it closed while allowing for a larger opening for putting it over your head. The front of the poncho also has a large pocket with a flap cover. The flap does not have Velcro or any other means to keep it down, but it does do a decent job of keeping out water and rain. The bottom corners are reinforced so that if you use it as a tarp, it will be less likely to tear.Because the poncho is made of tarp material, it crinkles quite a bit and is a bit noisy. But that's not enough to detract from the fact that it does a great job of keeping you dry.

unusable
Stiff, noisy and opaque. Not comfortable to wear and impossible to move around comfortably in. Even for so-called "bug out bag" - you need something comfortable enough to use, ratherthan discover in moment of need your gear is not useable.

Better than those single use see through types
Better than the flimsy disposable type ponchos but not nearly as good as the military issued ones. Too small to make a shelter out of. Has metal grommets at the corners but the rest is secured with plastic snaps. Simple Velcro around the neck and a cheap pull string for the hood. It will keep you dry in a pinch and it’s not a bad product per say but there are better options out there.

Rolls up small
I spend a lot of time in the wild and ponchos are my preferred rain gear, emergency shelter, and shade provider. This poncho is pretty light weight and packs down to the size of a large can of beans. With pressure, you can get it down smaller. It is quite large, easily covering my 6'5" frame and backpack. The side snaps seem to be well made. The silver lining makes it particularly good for creating a spot of cool shade from the Texas sun.The fabric is rather stiff and noisy, so this isn't a poncho for hunting. It feels like it's made from the same material as standard "blue tarps" and so you do need to make sure you don't snap it on a branch or fence that'll tear it. The fabric is also pretty stiff and so it sticks out some from the body rather than falling straight down.
