Runs true to size to a little big. for a 20/22W, 2x might be perfect
I bought these as a rash guard when I wear skirts. I bought a 3x and I wear 20W/22W in dresses and pants and usually a 2x overall, depending on the designer. If they run really big, like INC from Macy's, I wear an 18W in pants. Waist = 45 inches. HIps = 55 inches. So, with those measurements, I figured I'd get a 3x, since shapewear tends to run tight/small. I can't fit in the 2x from Bali for example. And in Rago, I at 20/22W would be an 8x for a comfy and non-restricting fit. And this other thigh shaper, Shaparee #230, I got was a 4x for a not-tight, normal fit (that one I recommend, too.)In this one, I got a 3x, and I need a 2x. It runs big. So, size to your true size or just a scosh bigger if between sizes, is my guess. The 3x was wearable, but loose in the thighs, to the point it was super comfy but absolutely no "grab." I like a shortlette to have a tiny bit of snug (not enough to squeeze, but enough to feel like it won't roll up.I could fit my hand easily into the thigh portion while wearing it. No grip in the 3x for me.Anyway, it's up to you. If you like TIGHT rash guards, size down. If you like a normal feel, stay true to size. If you like them loose with no snugness, go up one size. I'm about to order the 2x, but I'll still wear the 3x, as it's comfy, if un-snug/looseish. :D Easy to yank down and up, that's for sure.Nice product.

Runs Large
I ordered two pair of these to wear to a weekend long music festival. I knew there was going to be lots of walking in the heat, so I knew I needed more than baby power to keep the chub rub at bay! I decided to try these because of the reviews. They did the job wonderfully!!! No chub rub!!!! They do run large. I ordered XXLarge, and I am 5'4", size 22-24. I carry my weight in my belly...I have a large fupa. They were quite loose on me. The legs weren't tight, but not too loose either. They did slide up a little, but only because they needed to be a size smaller.

For the First Time Ever, There Isn't Enough Stars......
Truly, honestly, there really are not enough Amazon stars to rate these shortlettes. These are, hand down, the BEST PRODUCT EVER!!!As someone who suffers from summer thigh rub (I thought I was the only person in the world with this issue...) but loves to wear skirts when the warmer weather arrives, I have purchased many products like this over the years and all kind of, sort of work, but all have at least one issue that causes me not to want to wear them. If it isn't the dreaded leg creep, it's the sweaty crotch-too-hot-gonna-combust issue. And yes, some are designed to be shapers and after a couple of hours, you are done with the being sucked in routine. Each day since getting my Undersummers, I've worn skirts and they stay put, are super comfortable and are cool to wear. I suffer from an autoimmune issue that impacts the nether regions (Lichen Sclerosis) and struggle with finding foundation garments that breathe and these definitely do, so much so that I've ordered another 5.The cotton crotch is a god send and the really nice thing is that whomever designed them made it a wide enough crotch with enough leg room that they don't pull. I have hips that are 54, a gigantic bum, upper thighs that are 30 and a 2X works like a hot damn for me.CarrieRae.....you are an amazing woman, thank you so very much for inventing these and please know that they have changed my life!! Who knew that the right underwear (not shapewear) could be so life changing!!!

Cut true to size
I just received this item and had never ordered this type of item before. I ordered XL. They weren’t super snug but comfortable. However they came just above my knees- too long for me- I’m 5’. The material was polyester, so I’m not sure if it is going to be super hot. The seam down the front does not bother me. I’m keeping them. Will wash them before I wear them- maybe they will shrink a bit. Will order a L in beige the next time. I’m satisfied!

Where have you been all my life??
Hit menopause and the weight kept coming, which made wearing spanks a must to avoid charging. These are fabulous! I have an earlier model that tends to fall when stretched out a bit, but not this pair. True to size, lighter weight so not hot, but durable. Perfect. I love this product!! Totally worth the money spent!

Great shorts for under dresses & skirts!
Loved this product! So lightweight and comfortable, nice to wear for extra coverage under skirts, dresses, etc. It also completely negates issues of chub rub, and helps create a smoother silhouette! The animal print is very cute, and is as pictured, though do note that it is more on the sheer side. I can't speak for other colors since I just have the animal print. I was unsure if I should buy L or XL. I ended up getting XL just to be on the safe side. I probably would have been fine with the L, but I am happy with the XL. If you're on the fence with sizing I recommend sizing up for comfort. Overall, very happy with these shorties!

Pros and Cons
Maybe helpful context: I am 5'9", 190 lbs, and bought the 2x. I have been looking for boy shorts style underwear for a long time--to reduce the binding in the crotch/groin area from regular style underpants. I do not want shapewear, or anything constricting--hard to find. After trying others, this brand seems to be the best. They are not squeezing, slick so clothes don't catch on them. However, the right leg seems to be 1" shorter than the left. I have other similar underwear that don't do that, so I don't think it is the difference in my legs. The product description says no panty lines. True, along the outer thighs. However! The seams are now down the front so they definitely show in pants. A dress or skirt would be a moot point (unless jersey or some other clingy material). I don't really care, because at my age, senior, and weight I only wear black pants anymore. The seams would definitely be noticeable under light colors. All in these are comfortable and work for me, but they may not be the best option for others. They are pricey or I would buy more of them. Not sure $28 is a good value even though they have much of what I was looking for.Update 4-25-21: the shorter leg rides up. I like that they are silky, more like regular underwear, but don't stay down as well as others I have. I wouldn't buy again.

Great for chafing
These are nice and long, about 1/2 way down your thighs, and protect well against chafing. Seams are in the right places for this.

Love this product
I ordered an XL and there is plenty of room in them could have probably taken a large. So soft on the skin and don't ride up. Not noisy and seamless. Been looking for years for something like this. Will be ordering more! They are also ver soft and light!Makes wearing dresses a pleasure!

Great product - just ordered too big.
Arrived quickly and packaged well. Fit too big despite using my measurements, but unfamiliarity with the product is the cause. I ordered a 4x but I think I would need a 3x. Material is light, silky feeling. Would be great to wear once I have perfect size. Not shape wear - just comfortable and flexible to wear under dresses and skirts.
