saves time versus hot solder.
Done the job on a shower valve replacement. It was a bit hard to get the pipe to seat all the way, but with force and determination I got it done.

Follow the instructions and they work great
The thing you need to remember with these is that you have to prepare the pipe for the shark bite. I used these for PEX-B and copper on either side of a spin down pre-filter. The FNPT part works the way they always do. I am paranoid so I used tape and joint compound. It is necessary to de-bur the pipe for the SharkBite end, or you can damage the O-ring inside the connecter. For the PEX side I understand that if you twist it as you push it in the inner sleeve will find its way into the pipe to support it. I didn't have the feel for this and damaged the first one I tried because it hung up on the PEX. So I took the one out of the copper end and stuck it in the PEX before pushing it into the connector. No more issue. I didn't have this issue with half inch ShrkBite connectors.63 crimps, 10 shark bites, 10 NTP connections and not one leak. There was a suggestion of moisture on the two NTP pressure gauge connections, so I gave them another complete turn and they dried out. Not sure if it was just that the joint compound was shiny.

Working great
Just what I needed after I broke an outdoor faucet off a concrete wall. Water gushed everywhere, and I thought I would have to at least destroy the cinder block, or possibly remove the opposite indoor bathtub to access the back side. After a little work to dress up the end of the supply line, this baby attached securely without needing to make a big hole or solder unreachable pipe joints. Wonderful!

Got the job done w helpful tech support
I replaced an old outdoor hose spigot with a frost - free quarter turn upgrade. This fitting adapted the MPT on the spigot to my existing 1/2” copper plumbing. The installed spigot came out out of alignment with the supply pipe. Sharkbite tech support suggested making the connection with Pex pipe, as it can bend to accommodate the offset. A 6” piece of Pex and a union completed the fix without any soldering.

Saved time and trouble in a tight spot
I hadn't tried these fittings before, but they worked great. Easy to install between copper and pex. No solder or leaks.
