Product description Review: Preliminary results are promising. - I have installed two of these on shower wand fixtures between the hose and the wand head. It's too early to know how long they will last, but for initial usage they are working fine. I chose this style over the flat but vertical thumb slider thinking it would be a shorter device. In reality, it is probably the same height, and these are smaller than I expected from the picture. The slider ridges give a good grip to the thumb and don't get in the way of the handheld shower head. I want to address a few points I have seen brought up in reviews of these types of devices in general. One review on another brand mentioned the design on the inside only has two small holes for water to pass, thus limiting the flow. However, said person did not provide any measurements which I'm inclined to believe was a guess rather than facts. I have measured the flow on both shower wands I installed these devices to. Both were approximately 3.5 GM before device, and measured 3.5 GPM after device install at fully open. It is possible that with significantly lower than 60 PSI mains pressure that the flow could be limited, however, I doubt it. Quite a lot of water can be forced through a small opening. Another review mentioned the threads were too loose and even after adding teflon tape it remained loose. These are NPS threads, which is National Pipe Straight. The threads are straight and rely on the rubber washer to provide the seal. Thus, the threads are not expected to be tight like the way NPT, National Pipe Tapered, would be. If the alignment with the other fixture doesn't line up correctly, all one can do is try to loosen or tighten the device a bit more without overdoing it. If it doesn't line up, not much one can do about it. Plastic Internals: Some reviews complain about the plastic internal mechanism. I'm not sure if it will fail any sooner than a metal ball valve as they also use rubber seals. However, even if it used ceramic, I would guess the rubber seal would fail before the plastic. Complaints about dripping: Keep in mind none of these devices are necessarily able to withstand pressure for long. It's a poor idea to use it for more than temporarily for shutting off the water as the pressure will probably eventually damage the seal or cause the hose to the shower head to burst if it's connected in that arrangement. I would not buy this with the idea of using it for the main shutoff for more than a few minutes. I'll update the reviews if the device starts failing or corroding. Review: Working VERY well. - I was needing the ability to shut the shower head off sporadically,and this product is JUST what I was needing. So far these are working VERY well. 1/2" NPT and include rubber washer insert with a screen in the female side,it seals well

Save Hot Water....Save Water......
Added this to shower heads in both my bathrooms......They will save your hot water.....and save water as well. In turn saving you money on heating that hot water and you get a longer shower time as well. Easy to install and inexpensive.

I'll buy these if I ever need more!
Product came to me just as described. This product makes it SO much easier to have my proverbial cake and eat it, too! I love saving water but you'd never tell it by looking at my shower stall! I have all the "creature comforts" of multiple shower heads, but now I can save money and also feel better doing my part to preserve natural resources!

SMALL & EASY TO USE.
I'VE HAD MY SHARE OF THE SHUT-OFF VALVES. THIS IS PROBABLY THE SMALLEST & EASIEST TO USE. VERY PRACTICAL WHEN USED NEAR THE HAND HELD SHOWER. I HAD ANOTHER IN PLACE BUT IT STUCK UP AND WOULD MOVE AROUND BECAUSE OF IT'S SIZE & HAND PLACEMENT. THE BUTTON TYPE WOULD OFTEN DO THE SAME THING. I'D BUY THIS AGAIN & AGAIN AND DO RECOMMEND THEM;

OK. Nice valve but poor O-ring sealing if you need to turn it to a specific angle.
These are OK. The valve portion works great, but trying to use them with a shower head extender that needs to be aligned vertically has proven problematic. The extra 1/2 turn it takes to get the extender arm vertical is enough to push the O ring into the pipe so that it doesn't seal and leaks. The threads are so loose that it takes a ton of teflon tape to seal them so they don't leak, and then it remains so loose that the weight of the shower head on the extender causes it to rotate and unscrew.
