Beautiful book for all ages
Kids and adults alike can learn a lot from this book. Our 4 and 5 year old had become fascinated with bees when we spend the summer at our "Germany house".There is an abundance of pollinator flowers along the paths, most prominently lavender. They were always full of bees and bumblebees. We checked out several great bee books from the town library in Germany. I was not equally successful with this endeavor here in the US, so to Amazon I went. There seemed to be quite a few books about bees using the bee as base to a moral story (hard work, etc.), I found this kind of insulting and preachy. Then I found this jewel. Beautiful pictures and knowledge imparting. Just beauty and facts!

Beautifully illustrated
This is book is beautifully illustrated depiction of the life stages of a honey bee, faithful to the anatomy and physiology of Apis mellifera and the different duties of a worker. It is also a gentle introduction for children to the cycle of life. My daughter loves this book (and we have several on the same subject).

Made me cry
This is a gorgeous book that details the life of a bee. I got girl power vibes and teared up at the end. Great for any classroom.

a fun and accurate read
My husband & I are professional beekeepers and love this book. When our daughter brought this book home from the book mobile, I decided to buy her a copy of her own. This book is an accurate depiction of the life of a honeybee, without being too dull for young readers.I have since also recommended this book to community garden groups as a way to share beekeeping with youth.*note: though I bought this book for a 5 year old, it is appropriate for older readers too
