Zippo Flex Neck Utility Lighter

It seems like a lot of people struggle getting that first light.I think the reason I had issues was because it doesn't light when set to lowest flame, and the instructions say to set it on lowest flame to refill.Oh well.The higher flames start well, but annoying that low flame = no flame.But once I got used to keeping it on a higher flame - it does what I need it to do, so no complaints.

If you’re like me, you wanted a refillable wand lighter and everything else was negotiable. The reviews here for this has me wary, but after using it for a week, I must admit I am confused by the low ratings.Yes, it’s not a super easy light, but after a few goes at it, I must admit I am lost per the reviews that state it is impossible to light or even that difficult. Pointer or index finger on the depressable button, and your thumb on the slider and it lights like a charm. You can adjust the flame at the very bottom of the light. Really not having much of an issue at all here.Another confusing aspect of the ratings is the quality/build one because this is easily the highest quality wand lighter I’ve ever used. The thing is solid, feels durable, and has some heft to it. I’d be more concerned about what I was dropping it on getting damaged versus the unit getting damaged.All in all, the user ratings on this seem far too low. It’s exactly what I was looking for and more. If you’re a bit freaked by the ratings, don’t be. It works quite well and feels like it will last a very long time and I’m not sure how i could actually break or even damage it without making a sincere effort at doing so.

Update - 1/7/2021- I'm a little embarrassed to say - my initial review was in part due to a lack of understanding about 'filling' butane lighters. Most of my complaint come to the fact that the lighter from day one, was just never properly filled. Make sure you take your time - 10 to 15 mins if needed, to hold that can to the lighter filler. It may take that long. And then let it rest for about 10 minutes before trying to light it. I LOVED this thing and just DIDN'T WANT IT TO FAIL. I had even taken it apart to see if maybe I could figure out WHY it was failing. Oddly, when the nozzle is off, it works better when underfilled, but maybe because you loose the regulator function that keeps it from becoming a full out torch. Regardless - IF properly filled, I found the unit to be a great household candle and fireplace lighter. High wind situations are not best for this - but it fails less quickly than a match would under similar circumstances. Apologies to Zippo. I do think you guys are still behind the curve and are leading on 1950s tech in some ways, but I am glad you are still IN BUSINESS and producing quality made products. Thanks for reading. Oddly - your product eventually restored my faith in what you do.This lighter DOES NOT live up to expectations. ANY $2 lighter from a convenience store - will out perform this unit. I have to click it sometimes 6 or 8 times to get it to light. When it DOES light - the flame is so pitiful - I'm amazed it's able to light ANYTHING. Zippo supposedly has a lifetime warranty - but this is my third Zippo - though the other two were lighters. What we have here is a company that ONCE set the standard and OWNED the market - not more focused on what something "LOOKS LIKE" than how it actually performs. AT $14 per lighter - they sure won't go out of business - but that's it. I'm never buying another ZIPPO anything again. SAD sad sad that this company has not over the years IMPROVED it's products. They are still operating OBVIOUSLY on 1950's tech. Beautifully designed - but embarrassed by the thing if I have to use it in front of company. TOTAL LET DOWN - don't buy it.

Absolute junk but it came in that sealed hard plastic nonsense you have to cut it out-of so now I can't send it back. I thought - zippo, ok, well at least it will be well made and work well - even if it's a bit overkill for home indoor/outdoor use..... wrong - it's not overkill, it's really weak, and awful to actually hold/handle.This thing is huge, a big awkward lighter that I have no where to put (honestly, a solid 40% bigger than the cheep-o red and black plastic grill lighter it was supposed to replace).The safety mechanism is awful, pinching flat an already flat button on the back with the tip of your finger while sliding this plate (and it does not move easily) upwards with your thumb - it's so god awful. Also the flame is quite weak, like normal cheep plastic lighter weak - nothing like my other butane backpacking lighter (Brunton's - Helios camping lighter - which sounds like a acetylene cutting torch when lit).Takes several clicks to light, very awkward to hold, safety mech is really poorly designed, and the whole thing is much larger then necessary - just don't buy it>

Le pongo 4 estrellas porque un anterior Zippo tenia un visor para saber el nivel de gas y este nuevo no lo tiene. Del resto la calidad y lo practico del producto es increible.

Ça change des allumes-feu en plastique.Très belle finition, un touché très qualitatif.Il est vrai un peu difficile a allumer d'une main mais la sécurité est une contrainte.Le bouton de sécurité ne nécessitant pas d'être maintenu quand la flamme est active il suffit de l'allumer a deux mains puis de manipuler avec une seule.

Entgegen vieler anderer Rezensionen, die ich nicht im Ansatz nachverfolgen kann, handelt es sich hierbei um ein absolut hochwertiges und funktionelles Feuerzeug. Die abgeblich fummelige Bedienung mit der Kindersicherung ist absoluter Mumpitz. Hier zeigt sich, daß meist der Bediener eher ein Fall für den Orthopäden ist, als der Artikel schlecht ist. Die Dual Flamme, eine Mischung aus normaler Flamme und Jet Flame ist richtig gut und zündet auch gleich beim ersten Versuch, engegen einiger Darstellungen wenig technisch versierter hier. Verarbeitung und haptik erstklassig. Verpackung Spitze, Lieferung Rakete. Insgesamt Preis Leistung vollkommen angemessen.

Don’t expect it to last. 8 months on and the ignition has failed. So rather than using another lighter to light it with, its in the bin. Waste of money.
