Worth every penny. Very liquidy so easy to apply stunning color with texture ever so slight.
You definitely need four coats and high fire and it’s absolutely stunning! UPDATE AFTER LEAVING MY GLAZE SITTING FOR POSSIBLY TWO MONTHS WHEN I OPENED IT UP IT WAS SOLID EXCEPT FOR A LAYER ON TOP. NOW TRYING TO GET IT MIXED IS A TOP THAT I DON’T EVEN KNOW IF I CAN DO. WHAT A MESS. TOO BAD BECAUSE THE PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL EXCEPT FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE ONLY THING I RECOMMEND IS JUST STIRRING IT OR PLACING IT UPSIDE DOWN EVERY SO OFTEN. DON’T JUST LET IT SIT THERE AND FORGET ABOUT IT. TO ME IT REMINDS ME OF BREAST-FEEDING A CHILD THAT CONSTANTLY NEEDS NURTURING.

But this Gold glaze
Tried once. LOVE! This is a flat lip of a vase that I'm showing in my picture and although you can't see inside the glaze didn't really run down and pool a lot. I had read what a lot of other users had indicated in some of the glazing groups that I belong to and the discussion was between 4:00 and six codes. I put this glaze on the inside and the edge of this tiny vase though I did do 4 coats inside, and 6 thin coats on rim. It is a very medium thin glaze that goes on nicely. And frankly I am out of my mind happy with the color. My next piece I'm going to redux coats to 5 light coats and see how that works because people said they were fine with only 4, some said 6--- So you know it all depends on the user how this will work for you I decided to try the highest level first. I don't think six is necessary. Of course this glaze is cheaper than other most known brands and yet it isn't cheaper when you consider extra coats. So you'd have to figure it out for yourself with the color is worth it.. I don't use gold a lot however this is going to be just an exquisite touch to certain pieces.

Secrete Sauce at Cone 6
This is great! They dont sell on the main pottery websites but this is quickly becoming the secret sauce for many potters. 4 coats at a hot ^6 gives a super shiney gold, ^5 is gold, but less shiney. Doesn't run, but looses all shine if layed. Really nice on texture too. Photo is ^6+ laguna bmix.

Terrible quality control. Glaze was unusable.
Due to the great reviews, I ordered the gold for a piece I was working on for a client. After waiting for a month for the order to be fulfilled, unfortunately, the glaze arrived as a giant somewhat dried out clump in the middle of the jar with translucent water all around it. Horrible quality control. I tried for over an hour to mix it in and blend it together. I ended up still with the clump in the middle and what looked like lumpy oatmeal surrounding it. This glaze was unusable and would not adhere to the bisque. The client was in a time crunch, and so I did not have time to go out and buy another gold or to exchange this. I tried a different glaze that I had on hand, but this caused a great disappointment for the client and I ended up having to keep the piece myself. Not happy.

Gold or bronze depending on layers
The gold lends itself to gorgeous detail and enhances your art. Please excuse the unfired glaze. I'm currently refiring a few pieces but I wanted to show a photo of two layers of this. This glaze is on the rim of this pottery. I would recommend the four layers to get a bright solid gold. At two layers it's more bronze which I think is really cool as well.

Pretty gold, but be sure to stir
This is super gold as long as you STIR IT WELL! It comes settled, with a chunk of glaze at the bottom. If you don’t mix it until it’s all FULLY MIXED IN it won’t be gold.

Wonderful dupe for gold luster !!!
As someone who was looking for the gold luster look without the gold luster price, this glaze is a super solid alternative. I found that 3-4 coats achieves the metallic shine I was looking for. Any less than 3 coats has kind of an iron oxide, brown look, still pretty but not gold. I fire in an electric kiln, cone 6. Would absolutely recommend!

Looks so smooth
I make miniature pottery and this glaze looks amazing on them! It is kind of difficult to paint on - the vase on the far right in this picture I painted on just the top. First layer went on great, but subsequent layers got more chunky and challenging. Other three vases were dipped and look flawless!

This is a great glaze, by itself.
This glaze IS like liquid gold, and it's becoming more precious than real gold. It is NOT a gold overglaze luster. It will not do fancy writing on top of another glaze, and it won't make a pretty gold rim, but it WILL turn out pretty much like the test tile in the photo. It fires great at Cone 6. It doesn't run on its own, but it WILL run like the dickens if it so much as breathes near another glaze. So, be aware of that. It is fabulous, and worth the $$.

four coats application
I'm happy with this gold glaze. After applying four coats, the finish came out beautifully vibrant. It has a true gold tone, not too yellow or brassy and gives a luxurious, metallic sheen that's perfect for accent work or full coverage. The consistency was smooth and easy to apply in layers, and it fired evenly with excellent results. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a deep, authentic gold finish on your ceramics.
