If you are concerned about sediment or debris collecting and damaging your pressure washer pump, this is the filter that will extend your water pressure pump’s life. This filter easily connects to water spigot or garden hose. This filter can withstand a maximum garden hose pressure of 80 PSI. This is an essential filter for rural/farming households which need clean and filtered water for farming and gardening. For Garden Hose or Pressure Washer Use Universal fit means the filter fits most water pressure pumps, 3/4 in. Male Inlet x 3/4 in. Female Outlet Large, clear plastic debris bowl with stainless steel screen. Maximum Temperature: 140° F

Leaking, can't eliminate
No trouble installing this, actually I'm using it (with appropriate brass adapters to fit my plumbing) to filter water for an in-floor heating system. It does pretty well at that. The 100 mesh screen capture fine particles of rust and sediment and the clear bowl allows you to see what's going on. But my system is only 10 psi, low pressure, and there is a small amount of water escaping from the top of the clear bowl (not from the brass adapters I added, but from this filter), coming up through the threads apparently. I've tried re-seating the bowl, tightening it down as tight as it will go (am afraid of breaking it) and applied lubricant to the o-ring inside but still have a very slow leak, dripping every few minutes. I'm going to have to return it and try something else. It may work fine outside on a garden hose where you wouldn't mind an occasional drip but that won't work in my furnace room. I admit this was not designed for the purpose I'm using it but again under very low pressure you'd think it could handle it as the listing I believe says it can handle up to 80 psi. The water temp is only about 80F as I have the filter on the return (cold) line in my system so temperature should not be a factor.

I’m happy with
Mine has held together quite well. I think the difference, in my case, is that mine is rigidly mounted in the plumbing of a pressure washing trailer set up. No stress is ever put on it by someone tugging at the hose it is attached to. I have noticed that Home Depot sells these now. I think they fail because people put too much strain on them dragging hoses around their yard, and in doing so, pulling on them in ways they cannot handle. I’m happy with mine

Easy to install
It was easy to install... I used it for my clothes washer.... we have a well and sometimes get some sediment. Used plumbers tape around fittings and haven't had any leaks... so far I like it.

Makes using a pump for aquarium water changes possible!
I wanted to make water changes for my aquariums more efficient, so I bought a water transfer pump. The pump manual said the water being transferred from had to be “clear,” meaning no debris. Part of the aquarium water change is removing organic debris (fish poop) from the substrate. With a little research I discovered gear to pressure wash - the heavy duty water pumps required debris free water. This sediment filter is not just for pressure washers! It hooks up to garden hose connects, so it works with the Python no spill clean and Fill hose and the new pump. The solid waste sucked out of the gravel is kept out of the pump. It’s easy to clean the screen that filters out the debris.I’m getting the aquarium upkeep done in much less time, and without carrying 5 gallon buckets thanks to using a water transfer pump with this Thunder Hardware Sediment Filter Attachment.💦

Leaks bad, but works great filtering pond water for lawn sprinklers
This filter is poorly designed and leaks a lot as others have said. But I'm filtering pond water going to my lawn sprinkler. And for that it works very well. It keeps the sprinkler free of pond debris. Most sprinklers only have small screen that plug quickly reducing water flow from the pond. That means stopping often to rinse the screen. I mounted the filter and sprinkler together on a small cart so I can easily roll it around the lawn. And the leaks just add more water to the area being watered. I now can water all day without stopping. I also got a big increase of gallons per hour due to the much larger screen area. For my application or other outdoors use it is 5 stars. But for indoors use only 1star due to bad leaks.

It leaks between the brass and plastic.
Like many others have said.. it leaks... apparently it leaks in different places for different people. For some people a steady dribble will be no problem, for others it's not going to work out of the box. I haven't tried to see if the brass is screwed into the plastic housing yet or molded in, but it leaks there. Teflon mostly controlled the leaks at the screw together fittings but even then, the specs must be a little off because it had trouble sealing. The price is great. The filtration size is great... the package is great... but don't put it where it has to be water tight.

Endless leaks ... useless
We restore antique wood boats and routinely install sea water sediment filters, so this offering resonated with me. My bad.It did arrive quickly, but it’s “sea trial” was a complete failure, and nothing I tried slowed the water rushing out of the unit rather than through it into the hose attached down stream from it.Sadly I had tossed the packaging so had but one option. It went out with the recycling pick-up several weeks ago.

Just what I needed
I was getting some sand and sediment from my well so I installed a bag filter in the house. Unfortunately, I suspect that the water softener still harbors some of the old sand and sediment because I would occasionally get reduced water flow in my garden hose and discover that the little washer-screen at a hose connection was covered with sand. This handy device is going to prevent that! I have it attached to my hose bib and all my hoses are attached downstream of this gadget. I don’t know how often I’ll have to clean it, but I suspect that it won’t be a frequent requirement. And it will protect my pressure washer downstream as well!
