Very Useful and Performs Well
At this price point, this is a very good buy! I have been using it now for about 2 years and so far, havent changed the blade. I have blown 2 fuses over the 2 years - which doesn't seem too bad. I am probably getting to the point where a new blade would be good. It cuts meats and cheeses very accurately down to a pretty thin slice. I have used it on eye of round, turkey, pork loin and summer sausage, as well as smoked gouda cheese. Would recommend it for the casual user.

Love this product for easy to use
I found this product much better than the cheaper meat slicer from the other brand because few reasons: 1.) I don't have to cool the motor after 10 minutes continuous use. 2.) can cut really well even the meat is almost 100% frozen. 3.) The handle to push the meat down in place works quite ok. 4.) Not a problem with a block of meat, around 4 inches thick. Although it is not super easy to clean the blade, but overall is almost perfect for this price. I might get this product back if I found the other product cost over $300+ does not score perfect 5 stars. I did return the product only because I was protesting Amazon for not posting my reviews (even Amazon gave me ranking).

A decent home use slicer
It's Apr 2024 and I've used this slicer for over a year now, approximately once a month for around 15 total pounds of assorted meat and cheese each time. It has held up well over this period, with only a few flaws. 1. It seems that sharpening these circular blades is difficult at best. In the year that I've used it the blade is still pretty sharp, but it will need a touch up at some point. There is a well-known company here that gets a lot of business from many of the local restaurants sharpening the regular knives that are used. This company won't touch the circular blade. I checked at a local deli, and they have a mail away service for their slicers. I don't think it's something the average consumer is going to tackle. A new blade is around $30. 2. Cleaning the unit is straightforward but does require a little extra attention when you remove the blade. There isn't a great way to hold the blade while you wash it by hand. 3. The rubber feet on the bottom don't really hold it in place on the kitchen counter. It doesn't move around a lot but does slowly shift to the side. The sharpening issue is the big deal, the other two points are pretty minor. Buying a slicer with a built-in sharpener gets over $300 pretty quickly, which is more than I'm willing to spend. Otherwise, it is unbroken and ready to use every time without fail. Edit Aug 2024 - The slicer is still working fine. However, the food carriage lock button (black rectangle that says Slice/ Lock/ Remove) has fallen off and I'm unable to put it back on. Maybe a drop of glue would hold it, but I'm concerned that the glue would spread and stick the lock in one place. I can use the tip of a ballpoint pen to move the lock, but it's somewhat inconvenient. I'll leave my rating at 4 stars, but build quality is suspect.

Easy to use, not too bad to clean
We love this thing. We cut blocks of turkey, ham, cheese in just a few minutes. Cleanup is pretty easy, but maneuvering the thing around can be a little clunky - sponge and toothbrush clean it then just wipe it off with a dish towel because trying to rinse it might get the motor wet and is kind of big to maneuver. Noise level isn't too bad, but I wouldn't do it at 3am. There are things that could be better but are superficial, like the catch tray could actually attach during storage, preferably over the blade... but it is free floating. Storing in the box isn't a good idea because the styrofoam makes it too tight of a fit for repeated use, but not using it the box bottom went support the device very well, so we use a leftover heavy duty fruit box from Sam's and throw a towel over the top to store it.

Versatile and good quality
I bought this for cutting homemade sourdough bread and it cuts through the thick crust with ease. The quality is high and it folds up easily for storage in a cabinet, which is good since it's more functional than designed for show. Using it saves a lot of bread since it can be easily frozen and thawed out. I'm shocked however to see that the price increased more than three times since I paid less than $100 for it in February 2024. Inflation?

Great slicer
This is a great slicer for the money. So far I've used on about 10 lbs of jerky meat, and 5 lbs of homemade bacon. Pretty quiet and slices quickly and evenly. Setting 5 for jerky and setting 4 for bacon was perfect thickness for us. Cleanup doesn't take long. I also ordered a non-serrated blade, but the serrated one cuts just fine so haven't put on the smooth one yet. I'm happy with my purchase.

Meat wraps around the drive gear smothered in lubrication
I bought this meat slicer after arduous long research to make organic jerky treats for my dogs with a dehydrator since pet treats prices have been going up insanely. Initially, the meat slicer seemed to work well but at the end of slicing, I noticed that some meat got stuck between the blade that I had to pull out. When I detached the blade for cleaning, I was horrified to see that the plastic drive gear underneath was wrapped around with raw beef and the meat I pulled out was probably tainted with lubrication that looked like blobs of white shortening. The entire saw base plate was a huge mess with meat fragments and blood combined with the lubrication that's hopefully food safe for the contaminated meat slices but the manual only mentions using Vaseline for plate lubrication and no extra lub was supplied. I used wooden toothpicks to pick out all the meat fragments from the gear slots and checked the reviews to see if anyone else reported the problem with meat getting lodged behind the saw blade. Since nothing came up for meat wrapping on the gear, I tried again with thicker cuts and tried grabbing each meat slice as they were coming out the back through the slice deflector, but some meat still managed to get caught into the blade, again making a mess. I also noticed the edge of the blade support paint was ground down from the back side of the saw blade exposing the base metal from cutting a few pounds of meat that 1st day I received the unit. Whether this particular slicer was a lemon or not, I couldn't imagine keeping it and dealing with the bloody unsanitary mess. I sent it back for a refund that day. I've since resorted to slicing half frozen meat by hand and realized that it is actually much quicker than using a meat slicer including the cleanup, and my dogs absolutely love homemade jerkies.

Issues
I deducted one star given there in no onboard sharpener, and another star given the slop in the carriage that slides back and forth. Given the carriage is such a critical part of the overall precision slicing of product. I am perplexed as to why there was not more effort put into closer tolerances. The slicer is very easy to take apart and clean. As a heads up to blade removal, the black plastic screw holding the blade must be turned clockwise to loosen, clock wise to the right to loosen. And counter clockwise to the left to tighten. I know this sounds backwards, but it isen't. And a simple quarter works better then a screwdriver for this procedure. Given there is a small effort required to clean it. My advice, have several items you would like to slice on hand, slice them all without several cleanings just slicing one item at a time. I sliced Ham, Cheese and Bologna during the same session, cleaned it and put it away for next time. My slicer was very very loud, but seemed to quiet somewhat with use. I always wear knife resistant gloves?? you cannot be to safe. There is a small learning curve with this slicer, not rocket science, but you will become better at slicing the more you use it given some small nuances. For the price it is a good entry level slicer, I will up grade at some point. More then likely almost all children like to watch the machine slice, keep them back and away from the spinning blade. I paid full price for everything. As I ordered an smooth edged blade and installed it, put the original blade in the hard plastic case the smooth blade came in.
