Slightly larger than a can of soda, this first aid splint has a soft washable foam covering over a bendable aluminum core. It's soft enough to be comfortable when used, pliable enough to configure to conform to support upper or lower extremities, and able to be cut to size with regular scissors if necessary. The bright orange color makes it easy to find, and it folds back up easily for storage. It has easy to understand diagrams showing several ways to apply the splint printed on it for ready reference, and the splint doesn't need to be removed for xrays. It doesn't come with straps or tape however, so you'll want to pack self-adhesive tape or some Velcro straps in your kit to secure the splint in place with. This is a handy addition to our camping first aid kit!

Mine has a cut down it which sucks. So, I have given it 4-stars. Plus, would be better if it had some sort of straps to hold it on. Two straps (velcro?) would be greatly appreciated. Now, thus a nice splint and it folds nicely but mine having this slash down it does degrade the integrity and strength of the splint. But; the padding helps cushion the skin and the leg (or arm). This is a great item to have in your Emergency Supplies, just incase. 😀 *** I would recommend for people to get one of these and add it to their medical kit, it could be a lifesaver in the future 😉 (you never know). ***

I haven’t had to try this out yet, thankfully, and I really hope I never do. But I feel a peace of mind knowing we have it if a circumstance ever does arise where it is needed. The foldable nature of this splint makes it compact for packing into first aid and trauma bags. It seems like it will be effective as a temporary splint for injuries to limbs and even reusable in most cases. I just wish it came with something to tie or strap it on. You will have to provide that part for the first aid kit separately.

This is a just in case order for my husband's hunting bag that he keeps on his 4 wheeler. He has to drive up a steep hill to get to his hunting spot which is flat once he gets up there. A few other people hunt the property as well and almost everyone that hunts there is 50+ in age. I get concerned that someone may fall out of a stand or flip their 4 wheeler and get hurt. I thought this would be good to have on hand in case someone does take a fall and can't use their arm or leg. Good to have for keeping an injured limb stable long enough to get to a hospital. My husband mentioned that he has seen this exact one before and that they work just fine. He had mentioned that he was actually thinking about getting one but I beat him to it. It folds small enough for easy storage. Husband is happy with it. Hopefully it will never have to be used!

I like these type of emergency splints, they are very handy. This splint is from AID MATE, and it feels to be almost the same quality as some other emergency splints I have. These splints are light-weight, and can be coiled, folded, or laid flat, so that they take up very little space. The splint has a thin core of aluminum and has a foam padded outside that is Latex Free. The splint features directions printed onto the splint and includes diagrams. This splint can also be cut into smaller pieces, if needed. These splints work in a way, that if they have a bend/fold in them long-ways, they become pretty rigid. This emergency splint measures about 36" x 4.3". Great item for an emergency kit, I've never had to use one, but I do keep a few around.
