Bates- Trim Paint Brush, 3 pcs, 5/8”, 3/4” and 1”, Ergonomic Handles, Trim Brushes for Painting

I normally don't have time to write reviews because I am too busy trying to make a living. However, these brushes warrant a review. I am a Wooster man and have been for over 40 years, and I bought these more as a joke on myself because I don't paint Signs, Pinstripes, or Asian Calligraphy, so why would I ever use these "Disposable" "Toy" round brushes? Additionally nothing beats a 2.5 inch Wooster sash brush...Or so I thought.These are NOT toys nor are they disposable. They are very serious paint brushes that are exceptionally well made and work exceptionally well. I am currently working on painting a house with single Pane(Pain too) windows and these worked better than the aforementioned sash brush. Typing that brought a slight tear to my eye as I love my sash brush. But, these hold more paint, drip less, keep a wet edge better, and are very precise with the application of the paint. I only lost a few bristles to start which was no more than a new Wooster. The bristles could be slightly softer but the trade of is softer bristles equals less paint load, so these are a very good balance. Cutting in with these along trim and ceiling is unbelievably easy and fast. I found that loading the brush then slightly rolling it as you move along your paint path gives you much better coverage and longer distances, with fewer trips to the can than would be the case with the sash brush. How can I make that claim? Well, I used them both alternately on the same wall and trim cut. Absolutely no comparison. The round brush out performed the sash. I feel another tear.Would I buy these again? Yes, in fact after I type this review I will be ordering two more sets, so i don't have to worry about the quality dropping off, as I have seen happen over time with other good Amazon offerings.Pro tip for you all, and you can thank me for it in the next life. To clean your paint brushes after using water based/soluble paints, use Zote (Yes the Mexican Laundry Bar). It contains a very old secret ingredient - Tallow. I will try to post pictures of these brushes after more use, and you will see after a 100 uses and clean ups with Zote they will look brand new. The tallow releases the paint better and keeps the bristles soft. Like I said you can thank me in the next life.I also ordered some other products from Bates Choice and they were exceptional as well. Great products and Great Value, so much so I now very intentionally look to Bates Choice for items I need. And No, they didn't give me a dime for the review though I wish someone would. Maybe, I could paint less.I will try to provide a review on the other Bates Choice products if my work will allow.

The media could not be loaded. These are easily the best paint brushes I've ever gotten. The design is well thought out. The handle has a rubber grip and there's some weight to the part of the brush that's most important. The bristles are the perfect amount of soft and firm. The circular shape will hold more paint than a chip brush and these would be a dream for cutting in. The bristles are attached very firmly. I doubt I'm even going to get one that comes out. I would say for the price these are fantastic, but even if they were more expensive they would be fantastic. It's evident the company cares about its customers and the quality provided to them. I ordered these about 9 PM and I had them by 6 AM. Bates is going to be my go to from now on. The company is based in Lafayette Louisiana and I was shocked to see made in China on this product. That's the only disappointment.

These brushes are a life saver. Was before it's inital use. They are a trims best friend. I have found them to be durable and have not lost any bristles as other supposedly claim. God only knows what they were painting or how they care for their brushes.

As with any brush painting, it requires some steadiness and skill. They (large on) work okay; however, I expected the bristles to be longer than what they were to allows for better paint flow - (Minus a star). Clean up was harder than usual because of the thickness of a round brush. Unless you lightly load the brush with paint, you'll never get it perfectly clean again. Good for small projects or places where a normal brush is impractical.

We are doing a massive overhaul on our house, everything is being renovated, which means lots of painting. I LOVE these brushes, they are so useful and versatile! Seriously the best brushes I’ve ever cut in with, also the best brushes for painting the top edges of baseboards, and the best for painting down the sides of door trim…the list goes on! I highly recommend these brushes, one of the things I’ve appreciated the most for our renovations.

These brushes are magical. My husband and I bought our first home together and I handled painting the whole house, my husband is in the home renovation industry and let’s just say I have never painted a wall a day in my life. I struggled cutting paint and doing trim work, I ordered these brushes and I was able to really clean up areas that I definitely messed up on. It saved time and the paint on the trim looked wonderful compared to me not using these brushes. So if you are like me and want to help paint but aren’t great at it, these brushes are for you. Truly magical
