Great tool
Purchased to allow me to use one power head and have multiple tools for my yard work. Worked out fantastically for me. One power head and I have an edger, tiller, and string weeder. Tool head is durable and works perfectly to keep my yard edged. The best part is one battery, one power head, and it saves me garage storage space. I can strongly recommend this tool and my application philosophy

An useful tool
It is a good and sturdy piece of equipment. It is really easy to attach it to the main unit with the motor.

Great edger very expensive not worth it unless you have multiple ego tools
Great product but definitely not worth the price as similar tools are often 50% or more less expensive. I am already well down the rabbit hole so for me the tools work because I have one type of battery for all tools reducing clutter so I am paying a 2x 3x premium to keep a cleaner garage and storage shed. If a clean uniform outdoor tool is a priority to you then this brand is awesome however if you don’t care about having a uniform solution you can find much cheaper options that are just as good!

Black & Decker Edger going in the garbage
I live on a corner lot with LOTS of sidewalk. I absolutely despise edging that much sidewalk, but it does look nice when done. I've had a Black & Decker edger for many years and it's such a chore. I typically spend a few hours where I'm miserable. I'm trying to jam the edger forward to get a good edge. Even a new blade with the B&D doesn't help much. I can only manage to do this chore twice a season, at the most.My previous purchase, the EGO trimmer was an outstanding product and made me not hate trimming any longer, so I thought I would give the EGO Edger attachment a try. What an an outstanding product! Instead of the edger needing to be pushed, the EGO is Pulling me forward. My 2 hours of misery was reduced to about 15 minutes. I did blow through both of my batteries, but I haven't done the edging at all yet this summer... just used the trimmer to make it look halfway decent. I'll bet if I do this once every 2 weeks or so, I'll spend no more than 5 minutes on my whole sidewalk. My sidewalk doesn't look so long anymore... until winter comes.EGO, your company really knows what they're doing.

A game changer!
For years I resisted having a dedicated edger, despite the number of actual edges my property has. I'd use my weed whacker or, in the old days, just a straight-edged shovel that was sharpened a bit. Labor intensive, but they worked.I'd tried an early version of a modular edger with power supply, an early Ryobi ... but the linkage was sloppy and loose, and that unit was a piece of garbage, so I returned it and stuck with the weed whacker. (NOTE: the newest Ryobi models have, they say, fixed those problems. I have no personal experience with the newer models to compare them though.)I'd gotten the EGO pole hedgetrimmer to take care of some tall hedges I have, so I already had the power unit... I figured what the heck, at worst if the edger doesn't work I can return it. I'm happy to say it worked. Beyond my wildest imagination it worked! This has been a game changer for me. With my weed whacker all the edging would take an hour easily. First time out with the edger, fifteen minutes ... and that includes the break for some Gatorade. The unit has a little bit of a pull, which you can quickly adapt to to let it feed you forward. The only challenge, if I can even call it that, is deciding how deep to make the cut; the actual adjustment is a simple finger knob, so easy as pie to actually do. Hard to imagine it easier.Using the hedgetrimmer pole, I thought the whole thing was over-heavy, not well balanced. But as an edger, gravity does the work for you. Easiest yard chore I think I've ever done. VERY happy with the unit! And the finished look? Far more professional looking that my whacking ever was. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!And no, nobody gave me a dime for this review!

Fantastic lawn edger with typical EGO quality
I wish I had made the switch to all electric lawn tools earlier. This EGO lawn edger has plenty of power and adjustability to make lawn edging a much easier task. I had no issues going about 1" or so below the soil line. Being able to quickly change out accessories from the universal power head is really nice and I now have three other tools that I can swap in and out in about 5 second. The huge benefit is not having to deal with gasoline and mixing the oil and the inevitable leaking with gas tools.

Terrible
Update 2: dropped to one star. Couple with the power head and 56V battery pack larger than a motorbike battery, this tool is ridiculously heavy and doesn't do a good clean job due to sight lines and a wheel that doesn't go high enough. Maybe I'm just not the edger type. Back to using my old string trimmer (Ryobi) - less precise though it may be, I can edge the whole lawn with having weak, trembling arms for an hour afterwards. I'm out. Update: dropped another star. This unit is HEAVY and seems practically useless for people other than stout, strong young men. As powerful as gas, but combined w/ the power head, these Ego products I've tried so far are just oo heavy for me. Back to the drawing board, I guess. :(Easy to attach and well made, but heavy and ungainly. I'm wondering now if the version w/ a carbon-fiber shaft might not be the better investment. Also, you have to hold the assembled tool at a strangely low angle to get the cutting to happen effectively (I tried the guide wheel at the highest setting). I'm not unhappy, but not blown away by this system by any means.
