Fodor's Amsterdam: with the Best of the Netherlands (Full-color Travel Guide)

I purchased Fodor's and Frommer's guides to Amsterdam and this was the BEST guidebook with information that was absolutely thorough and accurate. Very good amount of LGBTQ information as well. Also includes a good amount of information for side trips from Amsterdam. You will not regret purchasing this guide. The internet is not the complete picture for destination information and public forum sites like TripAdvisor are biased due to the fact that contributors are by and large millennials and travel blogs are not professional writers by any stretch- so they are age biased and inaccurate also. Use this book and benefit from YEARS of travel publication experience and professional writers.

If you plan to spend all your time in Amsterdam, then this is the book for you. Does not cover much outside of Amsterdam. Rick Steves Amsterdam & The Netherlands book is better if you plan to leave the city.

Good book to prepare for traveling to Amsterdam.

I’ve used this book over 3 visits to Amsterdam and found it very, very helpful and accurate. I have Rick Steve’s book also. It’s OK, but not as useful.

Used this on a recent trip Dec 2018, and was super helpful. Anything that was not obvious as far as location or landmark it was a great reference. Hope to make it back one day, highly recommend this guide and this city.

I used this book a lot before we even went to Amsterdam. It has everything you need to know and included places to try.A really great travel guide!

Good guide book, very thorough

A little outdated, I think. Checking with several hotels in Amsterdam and could not find any with the room charge as listed in this book. Some helpful information and maps which will be invaluable for my upcoming trip.
