I got this to replace my doggie door that my new dog chewed up. I cut to fit. It works great even without a magnet being on the bottom. It stays hanging downward and is secure enough to keep out the wind, rain and insects.

The product does what it was intended to do. I was able to cut to length and put over an open dog house door so we could keep the heat in a little better. Even though I gave 5 stars, this thing stinks as others have mentioned. As soon as I opened the wrap it came in, it smelled like someone had been smoking weed in my house. I'm not sure what the smell is actually from, but that's what it smells like. I'm hoping the cold air takes some of the stench off of it outside.

Dog Door Replacement, Plastic Vinyl Strip.We needed this to replace a pet door flap.The vinyl stinks, literally. It smells terrible and it does not wash off. It needs to air out and off gas.It comes rolled up (which makes sense for shipping), but because of that the ends curls up.I attempted to uncurl with a hair dryer, hot water, and boiling water and all of those failed in different ways. Best way to uncurl = cut the piece you need and let it lay flat for a week.The vinyl is heavy duty and clear. Easy to cut with good scissors.Because of our needs we were having to rig this up in non-standard ways. So for anyone curious, tape (duct tape, gaffers tape, shipping tape, etc), will not stick to the vinyl. It will stick for a day or three then start sliding around leaving a goopy sticky residue behind.

80 lb. Tortoise uses his new front door with ease. No hesitation. Covers a 3' wide opening from the cold. Keeps his heater bill down, runs less. His 7' wide x 9' long x 6' deep home often gets bumped by him. He seems to love these and they stay in place! Fastened with sheet-rock screws and fender washers to his plywood roof.(Cut to fit, time will tell).

Jury is still out. Dog hasn't quite found his new home. While the plastic was warming up in the house, the odor was quite off putting. VERY strong chemical smell that had me at first wondering what was on fire in the house. Finally narrowed it down to the plastic.As we introduced our dog to the new dog house (and door flap), he hesitated. I'm wondering if his strong sense of smell was also offended. We moved the "flaps" up and out of the way to see if maybe he'd get close but have yet to see him enter the shelter. BTW it dropped to 4 degrees here last night. You'd think he'd be happy to get out of the cold. I'll write an update when I know more.Just know the plastic smells horribly. I'm glad the plastic is finally out of our house.

I built a doghouse and needed a way to block the wind. Well, I think it's going to work rather good. I didn't measure the thickness however it seems to be thick enough to do what I want it to. It hangs wells and returns to place when pushed open. The doggo hasn't tried it yet as it's still under construction. I have some extra left after overlapping 2 pieces at 20 inches tall and covering a width of 12 inches. I secured it directly to wood with wood screws and rubber backed washers and I think it's going to do just fine. Hope this helps if your considering this for a dog house door. I would recommend it. 👍

Excelente calidad

I wanted this to cover a home made cat door about 12 inches high. Once cut, because it is so short, the flaps stick to each other so the cat door opening is not covered. The material is too thick and needs to be more floppy. The cat thinks it is solid so is reluctant to go through unless I hold up the flaps. Rather defeats the object. Back to the drawing board! Not a very useful product.
