Does what it says and saves so much fiddling
It's simple but is so great. I only have about 6 games but not having to constantly click the card in and out is so nice for quality of life.

hard to tell which game is in which slot - but compact and lightweight
Switch Game card ReaderClever compact device that lets you have 4 switch game cards ready for instant play, and spaces for storing 4 more.Things to consider- the top row is for live game cards, labels are on the top but given how far you need to insert, you need to remember which card is in which slot, a button on the top cycles through the card slots and shows a colour code for the slot- bottom row is for storage- the device connects to the switch using a short custom card wire (~10cm long) and requires USB-C for power (lead supplied)- its lightweight (110g) and compact (16.5*3.582.5cm) but only has a plastic bodyDevice arrives in plastic bag inside a card box with product details, limited instructions on the box.

Excellent device
Not much to say about this one. It basically improves the quality of life experience when using Switch. One minor grumble, the LED on the main switch is too big & bright, so I've popped a black sticker over it.Build quality is great and saves me fumbling around switching out carts.

Would have preferred all the slots to be game ones!
This was easy enough to put together, clips nicely onto the docking station and then it's just the data cable and a USB for power and it's all set.Have to admit, I didn't read the description very well and assumed all the slots would be for game cards, but only 4 are and the other 4 are for storage. Seems like a waste to me.It is handy not having to swap out game cards, but it's a shame the unit doesn't work on a remote. My docking station is in a video unit and it is a hands and knees job to get to the thing and push the button to change games. I struggle remembering what colour on the LED related to which card too, but that'll probably improve if I get to use it more.I suppose the end verdict really comes down to whether you think being able to swap between 4 games without spending 20 seconds changing the card is worth £45. To me, that's getting on for another game and that's probably more worthwhile.

Requires external power to allow games to sleep
Major issue with this, is that it requires an always-on usb power supply to provide power to cartridge, so that means if you're someone who switches off the power at the wall for devices when you're done with them, ie the dock then you will not be able to leave your Switch in sleep mode in the dock with this plugged in, otherwise it'll crash your game and potentially corrupt your game/save files. You would hope it could siphon power from the switch game cart instead rather than the dock/usb power brick.Only credit is that it does switch between games, and does connect securely enough to the dock.Other downsides I have found though is that if you're buying this to extend the lifespan of your game cart slot by not switching between games physically constantly, that concern doesn't go away as you now have to unplug the alxum device if you want to use the Switch in portable mode, and the cable is quite stiff so you fear damaging both the game cart slot and the stiff cable. Then you have to remove the game anyway from the alxum to plug back into the Switch, so this device pretty much removes the portability function from the Switch and resigns you to always docked mode.I also don't like that the slot indicator LED is a single RGB LED, so you have to remember what colour is which slot, as they're not colour coded on top of the device, rather than just putting an individual LED at each slot position. Plus remote could be numerical input rather than a single button that sequentially cycles through the slots. Also false advertising for 8 in 1. It gets round this by saying it's a 8 in 1 card holder, but in reality it's just 4 in 1 game switcher whilst holding 4 extra games in loose slots.

Doesn’t work
I had it completely connected to my switch but it didn’t turn on, the light was on but it wasn’t working

Switch cannot stay in sleep mode with this attached.
Works, but when you try and put your switch in sleep mode, this device keeps waking the switch over and over...making it largely pointless. Have to manually unplug yhe usb every time you want to put your switch to sleep.

useful
The media could not be loaded. I love this switch, it convience makes it super useful. I use it daily to change my physical games in a fun and usefully way. Buy this and you will get the superior Nintendo feeling that using cardliges is better than using discs.

Ottimo prodotto.

Works as intended, great invention.
I have 2 of these and ordered 2 more to keep my precious Nintendo exclusive titles safe! I'll leave Zelda: BOTW, TOTK, SS and LA in one and Xenoblade 1, 2, 3 and Metroid Prime in the other for as long as the reader works I won't have to switch these cartridges again, loving it :D
