Great add on. Ask Santa!
This is a hit on the beach when surf fishing. I use it with the nespresso adapter. Great addition to my kit. Do you need it, maybe. Now that I have it, it’s a “must pack” for all my travels. No crummy hotel packets of coffee.

Worth it
First impression- makes better espresso than the regular single shot. Totally worth it.

Some unnecessary stuff included but overall a good addition
"BARISTA KIT": I think it is worth it, although you get a little bit more than you would really need. You get THREE "filter baskets" (2x 16g and 1x 8g) which allows you to "preload" the coffee to make them one after the other. Frankly, that leaves you with FOUR baskets if you include the one that already came with the Nanopress, which at that point, is unnecessary. They could have left out the extra 8oz IMHO, reducing cost a little bit. The included tamper is nice and much easier to use than the coffee scoop included with the Nanopresso. For traveling, you can easily fit both large coffee filters into the unit, as well as the tamper. You can't fit the coffee scoop in, however, with some "fiddling" you can fit the cleaning brush in, which is important.IMHO, the "Barista Kit" is worth buying as it allows you to make more coffee quickly. It also allows more variation in the strength of the coffee, since you have the larger coffee baskets and you can put a little less coffee in the water tank if you prefer a a stronger brew if you like but still have plenty of brew in your cup! (With the smaller water tank, your adjustment options are more limited.) (We found filling up the water tank to capacity produced a slightly weaker brew than we prefer, so the option to use a little less water but still have plenty of coffee was preferred.)There had been some comments in a review or two about "oh, my coffee isn't as hot when I use the larger water tank..." What?? Really?? "Cooled down coffee?" How long does it take you to pump a few extra pumps for a larger cup? Are you using lukewarm tap water and then waiting a half an hour before drinking??? I found no such issue with "cooler coffee." And if you're using just-boiled water, you better be careful that it does sit a bit so you don't burn yourself. No, no issue with "cooler coffee."Finally, including here a review on the "Wacaco Nanopresso Case, Protective Case for Nanopresso"... This I don't rate so highly. It is a very tight fit for the Nanopress, regardless of whether you have the basic unit or the "Barista kit extension tube." Both units will fit length-wise into the case, but the height (diameter) of the unit (which doesn't change) makes it a very tight fit. While there is an outdent to accommodate the unit's pump handle bulge, you can't fit anything else in the container, such as the very small but very necessary filter brush. As long as there already is a bulge in the case, there really should be a small compartment to put that kind of accessory in. In that, I'll ding it 1 star. What are you going to do with the brush, besides loose it? Better yet, instead of a compartment, just making the case as little as an inch longer would accommodate the brush and maybe another accessory or two, and certainly wouldn't increase the size much at all.

Watch your settings
I am currently using the Nanopresso as a temporary replacement while my home machine makes it's way through the repair process. I take two double lattes to work twice a day, and the one single shot filter basket a complete pain. The barista kit is just the thing I needed, love that they sent two double shot filter baskets and a serviceable little plastic tamper. That said, I use a very fine espresso grind with my home machine and the same grind worked with the single shot basket. With the double baskets, I had to grind a little courser (still an espresso grind) and go a little easier on the tamping. With these settings, I'm still getting a great latte and once I got everything dialed in, the barista kit cut my makeshift latte making time from 22 minutes to 15 minutes.

Great espresso, but water tank can pop off and do serious harm
Love the coffee it makes (more on that towards the end of the review), so why 1 star review? It is dangerous to use:I was excited about the product, read youtube reviews, advice on use and even the manual once I got my nanopresso. When it arrived, it looked great, felt well made, and I loved how portable it was. I used it 2-3 times a day for 9 days.During that time the water tank opened/popped off twice (both times the lager water tank from the barista set). First time it was during a party with a bunch of small kids running around. Luckily neither I not anybody else got hurt. I blamed the incident on my not paying attention, and I have been much more careful since then. Just yesterday evening the tank popped off again. This time boiling hot water poured all over my fingers resulting in a whole lot of pain and bad blisters. Luckily people around me only got splashed with warm water, so it did not hurt them. I still felt very guilty. When I got my Nanopresso, I noticed that there was no locking mechanism to keep the tank in place, but I assumed that the design was safe. They would not sell it otherwise, right? yeah... apparently not so much. With regards to coffee quality:The coffee this little machine makes it very good, way better than starbucks and most other coffee shops I have been to (yeah, I am a bit of a coffee snob). Espresso is rich, full-bodied, and strong. I really enjoyed it every single time and I was looking forward to adjusting different parameters and experimenting with pulling the perfect espresso shot. None of this means anything because of the water tank design flaw.Unfortunately, I do NOT recommend the product, and I do not want to try it again. My hand got seriously burned and it there is no way I will try this again. I will be returning mine ASAP and while I still like the idea, I will be much more sceptical when considering alternatives.

Amazing and necessary attachment that should come with the original!
Awesome product! The only reason I give this only 4 stars is because I feel like it would have been nice if this wasn’t an additional item and it came with the kit. For an additional $30 it feels a bit much for something as simple as a double shot vs a single shot. Other than that, it’s extremely easy to use and clean and the instructions explain very well how to use it with the original product! This speeds up the process of making espresso based drinks with the nanopresso a TON and I am extremely grateful for it!
