an amazing tea
i really love this pu-er tea brand. tight packed leaves conveniently packaged in little tissue paper type wrappings. works great in a self steeping pot or a french press! one of the best flavors ever....more rich and well rounded than regular black tea, and this brand is so tasty!

Very Energizing Tea!
I bought this tea because I was searching for some Tuocha to lose some weight (diuretic). I am not sure if this specific tea makes me lose some weight by reducing the too much water in my body, but I never felt so energized by drinking some tea!I would have liked to be able to break the round little tea nests to use less tea each time, but beside this detail, I really like it and I like its taste.

Great beginner pu-erh
Everyone knows about green and black tea. A lot of people have even heard of white tea. But aside from yellow (that's a whole other review) pu-er is probably the most obscure major tea family. Never fear however, this is a great introduction! (If you'd rather start with teabags Numi Organic Tea Emperor's Pu-erh, Full Leaf Black Pu-erh Tea, 16 Count non-GMO Tea Bags is your best bet. (Fun fact, Numi was actually the first major teamaker to introduce pu-erh to the west.)This product is a compressed tea, meaning the tea has been pressed into cakes wrapped in cotton paper. To brew you simply remove the paper, drop the whole cake into an infuser, and follow the brewing instructions on the tin. This results in a very dark liquid with an earthy taste and a thick mouthfeel. The strange taste is because pu-er is a fermented tea. It's completely unlike anything else in the tea world, and everyone should try it once.

Tao of Tea Puer Tuocha, 4 oz Tin
I have bought this tea long ago before they stopped making it and I thought it was good. This Puer tea that Tao of Tea put out again, brears no resemblance to their former tea, it smells of fish and tastes fishy which is rather disgusting. According to their info, they don't put it through the traditional process, they just leave it moist and let it dry on the molds they use. I generally really like Tao of Tea, but they really missed it with this one. I am returning it because I cant take the flavor and smell.

I am glad a friend told me about this tea. The flavor is great and the history of this tea is fascinating.

This Tea was a MISS for me...
I am a big fan of Tao of Tea. I use a variety of their teas, by favorite being their early grey line (eg, blue flower, silver needles, etc). So, there has recently been some clamor about Puree teas and a lot was said about their flavor. Well, this one didn't taste fishy at all to me. I even attempted a second steep. But both cups LACKED in flavor for me. I didn't see any reason to CHANGE what I currently drink for something I would have to try to doctor up to get flavor.I ordered these little cake nests and the loose one. I haven't opened the loose one because of my disappointment with this one. I'm not sure what the clamor is but there was none for me.

Cheap but not horrible
Tao of Tea Puer Tuocha - Lot# 007: 3 Stars---------------------------------------------------Shou Puer(Pu-erh), sometimes refereed to as Cooked, Ripe, or Speed-Aged Puer, is produced through a factory fermentation method called Wo-Dui or Wet Pile. During the fermentation of this product if the tea is mishandled or incorrectly stored it is very common to produce a off fish-like flavor.Tuocha is a small bowl-shaped pressed cake of tea leaves. Commonly Tuocha are known to be cheap due to their size which results in you receiving smaller and more broken tea particles instead of whole tea leaves, although they aren't necessarily bad.---------------------------------------------------The Tao of Tea Tuocha I have received are what I would consider as quite bland and not a good representation of what a quality Shou Puer is capable of being. The flavor, albeit not fishy, is quite similar to what you'd expect from a pack of mushrooms you've left sitting in the fridge for too long. It produces a dry, earthy liquid with a considerable amount of fine tea leaf particulate. The aroma is very generic with no complexity to the point I probably couldn't tell this apart from Lipton tea bags in a blindfolded test. The weight of the Tuocha range in the average of 5g each with variance of +/-0.4g with what I've seen, but it's a complete shame the Amazon listing says a 4oz tin but in reality it is a 3oz cardboard tube. With the price coming in at around $12.78 before shipping(at time of writing) for 85g I cannot recommend buying this product. If you wish to purchase a high quality Shou Puer I would recommend purchasing the V93 produced by Menghai DaYi from a reputable online retailer such as Yunnan Sourcing, normally coming in at around $11 before shipping(at time of writing) for 100g.*g is grams, 100 grams is approximately 3.53 ounces so a little bit under a quarter of a pound

Very good puerh!
I keep coming back for more so figured I'd leave a review. It's definitely tastes like real pu-erh and I'm glad it's certified organic.
